We often hear from fans who swore they’d never enjoy a stout — until they tried Buffalo Sweat. Some have described its rich taste, creamy mouthfeel and sweet, lingering finish as liquid chocolate chip cookies made with espresso. If you only try one dark beer in your life, Buffalo Sweat will change your entire perception of how a stout should taste.

The name is catchy, and the beer is ok, but it is more of a cross between a brown and a stout. The hops are too far roasted and too much maltiness, not sweet but something that would compliment sweet. It would be a great base for adding to an ice cream. In fact the buffalo sweat cream stout version is almost a desert beer. The finish is very earthy but also with a bit much smoke. I would never drink more than one in a setting.

B+. Pours a black color with khaki head. Full of flavor and easy beer to drink.

Low carbonation with a medium up small head that disappears very soon. Vague sensation of chocolate and malt and a finish so smooth it doesn't leave me with any real sense of an interesting flavor. An average craft stout at best. At the end of the night I prefer not to finish it and leave it for morning after taking a sip or two. It's really a better beer to have for breakfast than during the evening. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz can from the Hwy 2 road trip. First Kansas tick. Aroma is dark bread, coffee, cinnamon, vanilla. Pours black with a one finger beige head with great retention and some lace. Taste starts out lightly sweet, finishing with a light dry bitterness. Good.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a deep brown to black with a small tan head that dissipates quickly. Cocoa Puffs on the nose, bit of cream. Well-balanced with more cocoa puff cereal, touch of bakers chocolate and peanut butter. Quite solid.

Aroma is of chocolate, caramel, espresso all in one. This beer pours a rich dark black. Starts of sweet, with chocolate, espresso, chocolate, caramel, and malt. Finish is a bit sweet, and smooth and creamy. The only negative is the mouthful is a little thin. This is a fantastic beer.

Puszka. Kawa. Słodka, ale nie jakoś bardzo słodka. Sporo wanilii, takiej trochę sztucznej, jakby aromatyzowanej. Czekolada. Wysokie wysycenie. Kremowe odczucie w ustach. Niezłe.

Pours a ruby red color. Tall thick, dense, khaki colored head. Good retention, good lacing. A few medium floated in there.

Aroma is cappuccino, fresh coffee, chocolate, caramel. Biscuit. Simple, easy, good.

Taste is biscuit, cappuccino, caramel. Light, but good. Slightly sweet. Ever have Toffifay candy, tastes a lot like that.

Mouthfeel is super smooth, and silky. A little watery. A little tinge of alcohol. Did I mention in was smooth.

Overall, super good. So smooth, delicious. It’s simple, but done very very well. Yes, I recommend it, and would buy it again.

Can served in a glass, this stout was a dark brown in the glass and gave a one finger light brown cover of bubbles that receded after a few moments, it left many spots of lacing on the glass, the nose had aromas of roasted malt, with some chocolate and caramel, some roasted malt bitterness, a little coffee, malt and brown sugar like sweetness, the flavors were roasted malt, coffee that was stronger and had a bit more bitterness than on the nose, some chocolate, faint caramel, some malt and lactose sweetness, there was some roasted malt bitterness at the finish, the mouth feel was light, it was creamy and had average carbonation, the nose was a nice mix of roasted malt with coffee, chocolate and sweetness, the flavor was similar to the nose with a bit more coffee and less chocolate, this was a nice drink.

Pitch black with a beige head. The aroma contains some coffee, charcoal, and milk chocolate. The flavor is slightly sweet with some caramel, milk chocolate and a bitter bite on the end with coffee notes. The mouthfeel is a bit creamy. Overall well balanced not too bitter or too sweet. Nice one!
