We often hear from fans who swore they’d never enjoy a stout — until they tried Buffalo Sweat. Some have described its rich taste, creamy mouthfeel and sweet, lingering finish as liquid chocolate chip cookies made with espresso. If you only try one dark beer in your life, Buffalo Sweat will change your entire perception of how a stout should taste.

This is very good beer! Served at a good temperature with a nice tan foamy head that soon settled and some lace. Color is actually a clear obviously very dark ruby red (thanks to my trusty iPhone flashlight), but opaque seeming black brown. Arina us roast, malt, treacle, caramel, toffee, cocoa, coffee. Flavor’s like nose, sweet comes out and is perfectly balanced by the bitter malt, hop, and carbonic tang. Body is very good and carbonation a touch soft. Finish is like flavor and tapers nicely with medium length.

Pours a dark brown with a light brown head, taste of chocolate and coffee. I think I'll have one for breakfast ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This beer is black with a tan head that dissipates quickly. The aroma isn’t too strong or too muted, but the actual scent is a complex combination of caramel, vanilla, and toasty scents. When the beer hits your tongue, it is of a medium body with a very soft carbonation, yet it is slick and slightly sweet. The finish of this beer is hearty and more roasty than the initial taste would make you think. Surprisingly, it is quite easy to drink for a dark beer because of how thin yet hearty it is.

One of my favorite beers. It is only available in a can in my area. I was pleasantly surprised to experience this on draft in Great Bend, KS. Sip this beer and mix it side to side in your mouth to truly experience the flavors in this frothy concoction.

Can. Pours deep dark brown/black with a nice tan head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate and roast. Flavor follows suit. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel leads to a robust but soft finish. Really good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a 16oz can into a pint glass. Pours an inky black, with a small tan head which quickly fades, leaving minimal lacing. Nose is dark malt. Taste is dark malt and a slight hint of caramel and chocolate. Smooth mouth fell, with a long lasting finish. Very good.

On tap at Fireflour, Bismarck, North Dakota. Figured, I’d take a stab at this since my pizza took a good 45 minutes to show up. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a pure dark brown color with a slim half fingered white to off white foamy head dissipating to a film coating the top of the glass. The smell had a sweet roasted coffee bean with a huge chocolate awesomeness. The taste mostly copied the smell and lead to a sweet semi-dry aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this sat about a medium on the body and had a good sipping quality about it. The carbonation was smoot and lead to a nice creaminess. Overall, definitely a great milk/sweet stout I would love to have again.

Pint can. Roasted barley aroma with notes of chocolate and sweet, sugary lactose. Pours dark brown with a decent light brown head with good retention and OK lacing. Starts very smooth with sweet lactose sugar and a bit of chocolate with a rich, creamy mouthfeel. Finishes very smooth with a good roast kick at the end. This is a really nice stout.
