Aroma is of coffee and vanilla with a hint of smoke, Taste has definite vanilla cream coffee taste, very smooth and doesn’t feel too heavy, definitely something you can enjoy 4-5 of. Tallgrass definitely has a winner

Canned. Black pour, tan head faded quickly. Roasty malt nose. Rasty, slightly smoky, sweet chocolatey flavor. Moderately bitter finish. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Nice flavor, well balanced, but nothing really stands out. A nice drinking stout.

Can. Poured dark brown color with medium to large brown frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium toasted malt and chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted sweet malt flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

16 oz. can from the Root Cellar. Pours a dark brown color with a large creamy beige head that settles into a thin layer. The aroma is roasted malt, thin black coffee, dark chocolate with a strange tea like component. The flavor has some nice chocolate and roasted malt, black coffee that is on the watered down side and more sweet tea. Light to medium bodied. For the most part the flavors are decent, but this could benefit from more body and mouthfeel.

Consumed at a recent DC area tasting. Served in a SAVOR snifter. Pours a dark brown color with a thin off-white head and not much retention or lacing. The nose is nice and creamy with a bit of chocolate and coffee. The sweetness comes through in the nose, and then hits a bit harder in the flavor. The chocolate and coffee interacted better in the nose, and the flavor lacked that complexity. Feel was nice and creamy with a medium body. Overall, pretty nice and enjoyable.
