Pours a large fluffy, rocky, lasting head
Color is a dark orange, copper
Hard to pick aroma out of the thick head
At first taste I wouldn’t call this an ipa. Malty caramel with a little spice, maybe moving into a bit of pine. Toffee and cinnamon in the back, with very little bitterness. A bit gingerbready. Just the slightest bitterness in the back cleans it out. Despite the heavy malt, it’s not exceptionally sweet. Just kinda middle of the road. Not a bad amber, but really not an ipa.
To be honest this long lost IPA was far greater than Tallgrass's current Ethos. If only they would bring this awesome beer back!! Ibrew2or3 (8607) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUN 17, 2014
16oz can pours with a hazy copper body that supports a tan head. The aroma offers up modest notes of sweet malts, a dash of sweet citrus hops and then a sprinkle of pine hops. The taste has a nice pine hoppiness where there are supporting notes of grapefruit and sweet malts. Pretty nice. alexsdad06 (10262) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 29, 2014
Can on a couple different occasions (notes). Pours a mostly clear amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have some pine, citrus and earthy hops. Toasted malts with a small amount of caramel. Nothing outstanding here; pretty basic IPA. nulptr (114) - SCOTLAND - DEC 30, 2013
tallboy. decent hop profile and not too malty, but thin-bodied with a watery, nondescript finish. doesn’t hold a candle to the Ethos. MetalNHopHead (1886) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - DEC 30, 2013
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2015 This is a potent IPA. It very well may be too abrasive for many. However, this is a great hop-forward beer if that’s your thing. Tallgrass knows how to treat hops and their IPA gives you a whole lot of them in one sixteen ounce can.

A quite nice ipa on tap... Nothing I didn't like. Offered good aroma taste and overall drinkability... Good ipa

Had it out of a pint can, poured a thin fizzy head with uneven lacing. The aroma ihas a hint of citrus, and a whisper of basement, yikes. It has a dirty orange hue with a citrus hops taste and a watery finish. beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - JUL 26, 2013
Can pours amber/orange with an off white top. Scent is caramel, herbs and bread. Taste follows nose with an earthy hint. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - JUL 4, 2013
September 2011. Caramel, pine and hop aromas. Amber color with a white head. The caramel flavors are a bit too overwhelming and makes the beer too buttery. bobbyberbiglia (188) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - JUN 12, 2013
