Oasis is a Double ESB/IPAish beer that came about from playing around with one of Jeff’s favorite homebrew recipes. Here at Tallgrass we love malt and we love hops, and this beer has both of them in record quantities; well, at least records for our baby brewery. At a hefty 7.2% ABV and 93 IBU, Oasis is a big beer that has to be priced a bit higher than our regular line of beers. We think that once you taste the over-the-top hops and surprisingly sturdy malt backbone you will realize why it’s worth it. Definitely not a fruit-extract seasonal shandy, this beer is meant to be enjoyed on the back porch, the front porch, or even on the stoop. What’s a stoop? Well, it’s a good place to drink beer, is what it is.

Can from a very generous trader. Pours a reddish amber with an off white head. Some lacing. Nose and taste of caramel, burnt malt, resin/pine and dried citrus. Finishes dried citrus and burnt malt. Medium body.

Gription79 (2892) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - NOV 20, 2012
Poured from a pint sized can. Pours amber with tan head. This beer is grainy, earthy hops, fruity, vegetal. Not a interesting beer, it was made big, just because.

jsquire (4662) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - NOV 15, 2012
Reddish orange color out of the can with a sticky off white head. Thick toffee sweetness in the nose with a lot of resin. This is a big hoppy beer with tons of resin, pine, grapefruit rind and toffee sweetness. Lots of bready malts as a backbone to this big hoppy beer. There seems more alcohol than the 7.2%as shown. Big tastey beer.

16 oz can - dark amber in color with a nice 3/4" white head. Pretty beer. Strong hop flavor with a malt background. Very good beer. Advertised as an Imperial ESB.

Can. Really hoppy aroma. Murky, dark amber. Really nice white frothy head and lace. Very hop forward flavor but smartly maintains the essence of the ESB style. Along with their stout, which i had tonight, gained a new appreciation for Tallgrass as a brewer.

Iphonephan (7474) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - OCT 17, 2012
Poured from a 16 oz can shared at home. Pours a cloudy amber with a thick beige head. Tangerine in the nose. Citrus and pineapple notes with a crisp bitter finish.

cbfobes (2888) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Poured from 16oz can, pours a hazy redish amber with a thick off white head and lacing, the aroma is a little more sweet than I was expecting, a good amount of malt and caramel with a little bit of hops, aroma has a sweet front end of malt and caramel with a finish of hops, a little bitter but nothing crazy, a little bit maltier and sweeter than I usually like my ipas but I still dig this one, not bad.

Good. The nose is floral and earthy hops with a nice bready caramel background. Copper red with an off white cap. Bitter in the earthy floral predominance. Medium plus bodied with a bitter finish and notes of warmth.

Sample at Thomas from Tallgrass rep. Pretty nice IPA, much better than their standard. Good cascade aroma and flavor with solid malt backing.
