COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zombie Monkie is a dark, rich porter, carefully brewed for the post-apocalyptic world to come. Crafted with lots of roasty dark chocolate and specialty malts, then inoculated with enough hops to add a floral/citrus character in the finish. Its hardy, complex, and interesting, because you might be drinking it for a long time.

Delicious porter with an intense smokey chocolate aroma. Beautiful dark pour. Almost as satisfying as a great stout.

16floz can,BBD 12.24.2016, paid a discounted $5 for a four-pack. Poured into a mug glass. Ive had this before, and enjoyed it. I hold it up to the light, and no light transfers. Theres a sticky head to complete the appearance portion of this review. Smells pretty similar to a dunkel, makes me wonder if dark German malts are incorporated. A straight forward bold porter, where roasted malts take center stage. Pumpernickel and dark chocolate over a heavy feeling medium body compose the palate. Well done.

12/22/16. On tap at a martini bar at home in the QC - Iowa side as I recall. Black pour with a small tan head. Light roasted malts aroma, hints of chocolate. Decent flavor, roasted malts, cream, chocolate, coffee. Eh.

Can. Perfectly black body with a fluffy light brown head. Nose of lightly roasted coffee and almonds. There is also some milk chocolate. This tastes like sweetened coffee and raisins. Notes of dark chocolate are also present. The finish has some bread crust and a little hint of toffee. The body is light for the abv. Solid porter.

Dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of creamy malt and chocolate. Taste is bitter chocolate and dark roasted malt with a bit of sweet fruit. Slippery palate with light carbonation and a long darkly bitter finish.

Nice roasted malts, rich chocolate hints of earth, and some hoppiness. Flavor is about the same as the aroma rich, bitter chocolate up front with the bitterness changing to that of burnt coffee. Overall it a nice porter.

Dark brown with nice head that fell off fast. Aroma is raisin, metallic, with not much of a roasted smell. The taste however is loaded with roasted malt so not sure why Im not smelling it. Maybe this rapid changing weather is messing with my senses. Overall a pretty decent porter.

Pours a dark brown with an off-white foam head. Aroma is earthy hops, chocolate, caramel, and some roast. Flavor is caramel and chocolate malts with roast and some earthy hops. Well-carbonated with a light body. Good.

Aroma has roasted malt and milk chocolate and is lightly smoky; pours cola brown in color with a large, erupting khaki-colored head; roasted malts, slightly smoky, dark fruits, semi-sweet/dark chocolate and some mineral characteristic, robust and flavorful, gets better as it warms, lots of char in the finish, earthy/herbal/resin bitterness; medium body, average mouthfeel; damn good beer and I love the name, love the story, love the artwork, and love the tactical grip can.
