Dark golden color. Tons of apples, pears and bread in the nose. Big bready, estery mouth with tons of pears, apricots and apples. Very yeasty. Smooth, slightly boozy. Not really a saison, but an excellent Belgian strong ale.

75 cl bottle from an IP trade with TimE, thanks! Shared with Borresteijn. Bottle (crown cap!) opens with a pop, like a cork. Hazy golden blonde color. Big white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma’s: very saisony (Dupont), fruit, citrus, caramel, a little earthy bitterness, some malty sweetness. Flavor is moderate sweet with a little fruity sourness. Pretty strong alcohol feel. Medium bodied. Light bitter finish, slightly fruity. They MUST have used Dupont yeast for this. Excellent.

75cl Bottle generously shared by PotjeBier, thanks Potje. Label appears to be the same as for the standard version, #500 written on the back label. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of earth, soil, hay, light spicy, dry, citrus. Classic. Flavour is dry, light honey, soft sweet malts, hay, soil, hint of spice, lemons, firm dry bitter finish. Medium-bodied, slightly alcoholic. Good stuff.

Taster at RBWG 2014 grand tasting - thanks to the jtclockwork for sharing! Very last bit of the bottle, here. Totally hazy golden orange color. Thin white head. Dots and ropes of lace. Lemony citrusy yeasty aroma. Nice light sake-like rice notes. Medium body. Very smooth, creamy and slick. 9%? Whoa, no hint of that at all here. Relatively light bodied. Moderate sweet taste, light savory. Impressive, yeasty saison, judging from my sample. Good stuff! An imperial saison this smooth, reminds me kind of like Avec le Bon.

Bottle, thanks to TimE, 01/23/2014. Pours golden orange, slight haze, huge foamy head, settles to a fluffy pillow on top of the surface, thick sudsy lacing. Aroma is a perfumed cloud of fruity, tropical brett, juicy pear with lemon citrus edge, light cereal malt presence, soft herbal hops. Taste follows suit, fruity esters up front, peppery middle with light toasted straw malts, nice bitter dry finish. Medium body, creamy with prickling carbonation. Great saison, really a nice treat to have tried this one.

Bottle shared at Tadg’s. A funky musty mildly spiced saison aroma with a cloudy gold pour & a filmy head. A med-full mouthfeel with funk, spice & eather. A very nice saison, tasty.

Wombata (625) - Kobe, JAPAN - MAY 17, 2013
Aroma: initially reticent, after 20 minutes it showed pear and apricot. Flavor: pear, apricot, papaya, orange peel. Long finish of fruit flavors with a light bitterness. Comment: superb carbonation added to the drinking experience.
