Pours dark copper, somewhat murky in colour. Head rises really high, comes down slowly. It sort of seems that carbonation has been continuing in the bottle, so maybe opening it after a few months would result in saison shower. Aroma is not too strong, has some fruitiness and also earthy notes together with horse blanket funkiness and slight hint of sour. Nice. Sourness comes forward much better in the first sip. It is light and fruity, dry and sour. Some residual sweetness remains, making this feel even fruitier. There are also some earthy notes that combine with apricot and peach flavours that are still intact. They must have used lots of fruit in making this! Aftertaste demonstrates some bitterness, fruity bitterness lingers for a bit. I like this beer a lot, absolutely enjoyable! willisread (3803) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 12, 2016
Bottle shared. Hazy, slightly muddy brown with a light butternut squash colored soapy head that lingers. Horseblanket notes with some apricot, earth and mustiness about. Earthy bitterness with some light caramel and farmhouse funk albeit light. Finish feels slightly heavy with a slight persimmon like bitterness on the finish. Liked it a lot. biirusaikou (2705) - - JAN 12, 2016
Bottle shared, thanks Will! Lots of dried apricot with a light tart edge and subtle sourness, floral notes and earthy bitterness (from the peel?), bit of funk, fairly dry finish. Quite a fruit-forward saison, smooth and enjoyable even though probably not the most complex of the series. Wombata (627) - Kobe, JAPAN - JUL 16, 2015
UPDATED: AUG 28, 2015 Color: Hazy brown, with light brown foam
Aroma: Yeast, dried green, slightly tart apricot, and ripe apple, roasted grain, light grapefruit, light funk and vegetal notes..
Palate: Medium Bodied.
Flavor: Unsweetened apricots dried slightly young, wood, floral notes with light acidity. Bitter apricot skins and vegetal note.
Comment: Much drier than I remember when I had it on tap. Highly carbonated. Soft entry with long, bitter finish. Has gained complexity; much better now that it has aged. Yet, I wouldn’t wait. Drink now. EdKing (2668) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2014
Bottle care of TimE. Pours chestnut brown in the glass with medium off white foam head. Didn’t expect it to be so dark. Nose is toasty grain, cereal grain, dark bread, some light funk and light farmyard, dried apricots, some tartness and sourness. Taste is funky, toasty grain, caramel, bread, apricot. Not much tart in the flavour, but some cheesiness. The apricot is subtle and I expected it to be light to complement the fruit, but it’s darker. Never-the-less a nice beer.
