Still in very good shape, drinks like cherry wine with a nice oak edge, more dark fruits, really deep and complex with a lovely dry finish. Bottle shared. Thanks Neil for the generous share! 2011 B-11.12. Deep brown to black with a finger and a half of head that dissipates quickly. Huge oaky notes with that sherry thing going on alongside cacao and some nice light apricot and prune notes. Creamy and sherry-like on the palate with more fruit and oak. Just never seems to end. Bottle shared by Brian, batch 6 from 2010. This beer is a cola brown pour with no real head. Musty barrel-aged character. Light zesty mouthfeel with a very effervescent body. The taste is nutty, wine-like & fairly malt forward with a good degree of sourness. john_henry (124) - - MAR 10, 2014
One of the best beers I’ve had in Japan. Certainly worth giving a go if you into funky beers. I’ll definitely be stocking up on these.

Flavor: dried fruit, light flavors of dark berry, wood.
Comment: 2010 Bottle. Light bodied, Pinot like. 3.6 score.
A B-6 bottle at P’s house. Taken out of the fridge for an hour before drinking.
Aroma: Smoke, wood and dried coconut, mold, coffee.
Flavor: Wood, dried coconut, unsweetened cola and a hint of coffee.
Comment: Very polished and integrated. Long finish with a great mouthfeel. If served overly cold, the subtle flavors get lost, so I’d serve this closer to a cool pinot temperature--12-14C.

Bottle at Tim’s RPJG#2. Smells of cork. Pours a clear dark brown with a small beige head. Sweet and dry with a mellow tartness. Lots of woody aromas. Hints of funghi and of red wine. Medium bodied. Lively carbonation.
