Very nice looking bottle thanks to Mick. Pours a dark red brown color with a very large beige head. A bit over carbonated. A nice malty toffee and berry nose. Mild hops, mild yeast, chocolate and mild sourness in the aroma.
The flavor is chocolate, salt, mild fishy notes and malt. Weird. Why they brewed this?

Pours dark red color with a small, rapidly dissipating beige head. Dark berries and mild cardboard on the nose, some dark burnt malts. Very strong carbonation, some herbal notes, grain, burnt malts and yeast on the flavor. Too much carbonation here. Weird.
Poured into a teku showing pitch black and about three fingers of tanned latte foam despite a light pour.
The nose shows a lot of neutral brettiness (think Orval).
The palate is lightly carbonated and medium bodied. Moderate flavors of clean neutral brett show through out with a strange soy sauce like finish. Nothing special but nothing to brag about. willisread (3939) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 7, 2015
Bottle from Tanakaya. Poured into a Duvel glass. Aromas of roasted malt, funky saison yeast, rice, grass, prune, raison and some apricot. Full-bodied and a little too heavy, but good carbonation and mouthfeel. Taste is more of the same with the roasted dark fruit and roasted malt really standing out. Some earthiness and wet hay comes out as it warms. An earthy and funky saison that is roasted as well. Nice dry and lightly bitter finish.

Small glass on draft at Craftheads, leftover from the Shiga Kogen anniversary event. Black with beige head. Aromas of earthy notes, light roast, caramel. Tastes of earthy notes, dark chocolate, light roast, sweet dark fruit. Medium body with a dry finish.
