On tap at HOTD. Pours a cloudy orange yellow color with a medium white head. A big perfume, grassy citrus nose. Lemons, citrus throughout, toast, yeast. Very smooth. Quite nice. jc1762 (1609) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 14, 2015
Poured into a teku showing cloudy opaque yellow with about three fingers of foam. The bottle foamed over a bit when I opened it.
The nose shows a lot of Belgian ale-like yeast and moderate notes of savory umami.
The palate is well carbonated and foamy, hard to tell the body. The first impression shows a somewhat Orval-forward brettiness without any tartness. The mid palate warms up to lightly sweet malts and more Belgian yeast influence. A competent saison but just not very interesting. biirusaikou (2705) - - APR 25, 2015
Bottle shared. Fruity/floral hops, sweet rice, touch of spiced funk, earthy finish. Great stuff, huge drinkability, love the sake edge. willisread (3651) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - APR 25, 2015
UPDATED: OCT 10, 2016 2016 re-rate: Tap at Gremlin for 2 year anniversary. Lots of fun saisony esters on the nose, star anise, pepper and clove dominate. Nice peppery character on the palate. Feels a tad heavy and sweet, but still nice. 750 ml bottle from the Dogenzaka Shinanoya. Poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy golden yellow to dark straw with a huge soapy head that dissipates and leaves a thin coating throughout. As it warms up, big funky barnyard nose with clove, nutmeg, yeast and pepper all present. Medium carbonation with a light to medium body and a slightly creamy mouthfeel. This gets better the longer it sits out at room temperature. The second glass was a lot more complex than the first. Hint of sweetness on the palate but mostly funky with great bubbly finish that is somewhat dry and yeasty. What a great saison! ippopotamo36 (2538) - Rome, ITALY - APR 1, 2015
At tasting in Boban place, Vranovo-Serbia with markoijelena. Bottle courtesy of Phil from Japan. Thank you. Pours semi-clear golden with a white medium foamy head. Nose: spicy, peppery, in style. Mouth: lovely! Elegant saison, perfect execution of a classic style. Easy drinking. Tart, spicy but balanced. Great one!

(from notes) Bottle shared by t0rin0 at the Stuffed Sandwich last week - thanks Bobby! Hazy yellow pour with a white head. Interesting nose and taste. Some fruit and wood in the nose. A touch of bandaid in the finish. GenkiGonzo (1096) - Kyoto, JAPAN - FEB 12, 2015

200 ml on draft at Craftheads into a snifter, leftover from the Shiga Kogen anniversary event. Clear yellow with off-white head. Aromas of herbs, spices, citrus, floral notes. On draft on keg in Ushi-Tora. Clear pale golden, thin white head. Nose is caramel, meringue, Brett yeast, estery fruity yeast, sugary, caramel, toffee, lemon, slight funk and farmyard but it’s got pretty clean lines. Taste is caramel, toffee, perfumed yeast, estery fruit, lemon citrous, orange, light spice. Medium bodied. wedgie9 (2703) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 15, 2014
Tasted on 2/8/14 from a 750mL bottle at the RBWG Grand Tasting, big thanks to Ferris for this gem. Pours cloudy yellow with a thick white head that slowly recedes to thin lace. The nose is dry, spicy yeast with a unique funky basement aroma that I associate more with wine. The flavor is the same spicy yeast, funky basement, with the addition of some fruity esters. The body is medium with very lively carbonation and a long funky spicy saison finish.
