Draught courtesy of the nice brew master, at the brewery on January 21, 2011DialSquare (5130) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 13, 2010
Black color with hints of reddish brown, tan head. Butterscotch and sweet malty scent, some alcohol. Vanilla, sweet, smooth taste, very nice! Vanilla and sweet aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
From an old tasting note: draft at the brewpub. Brown sugar and sweet malt aroma. Soda like taste - chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and bready. Full bodied. bu11zeye (13215) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUN 22, 2010
(Draught) Pours a deep mahogany body with a small off-white head. Aroma of raisins, dates, roasted malt, and whiskey notes. Flavor of raisins, roasted malt, dates, licorice, anise, coconut, and whiskey. hopscotch (11236) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUN 21, 2010
Draft… RBWG ‘10… This beer rocks!… Pours clear and very dark (burnt orange when held up to bright light) with a small, creamy, khaki head. Good retention. The aroma presents biscuity, chocolaty malts with charming nuances of vanilla and sourmash whiskey. Full-bodied with gentle carbonation. Flavors of mellow bourbon and sweet mocha abound. Finishes up much the same – luxurious mocha. World class barrel aged beer! kramer (6905) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 21, 2010
On tap, at brewery. Pours a dark amber to brown body with minimal to no head. The nose is a bit boozy and bourbony with a definate Jack Daniels influence. Nice mix of Jack Daniels and vanilla flavors, boozy but not overly so. Lightly roasty and chocolaty, a little sweet. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Pretty darn good, the best of the bunch that was on tap that day.

RBWG. On tap. Rich dark ruby color with a light tan head. Moderately sweet aroma, heavy caramel. Smooth taste, not too sweet, mild hop finish. Decent. juiceisloose (1546) - Windermere, Florida, USA - MAY 29, 2010
Draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark cola brown and slightly translucent and topped by a cream, tan colored head of foam that settles to a thin layer of film and leaving nice rings of lace around the glass. The aroma shows a nice malt base of caramel, molasses, and dark chocolate. There is a nice roast component along with notes of vanilla and soft bourbon from the oak. The flavor follows and shows more of the caramel and molasses base along with hints of roasted chocolate, oaky vanilla, and the soft bourbon. The flavor is rich and a touch on the sweet side, but well balanced. Medium to full bodied on the mouthfeel with subtle carbonation and a nice clena finish without much heat from the bourbon. This is a really solid brew. Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - APR 18, 2010
RBWG 2010. I think this may have been cask? Pours a slightly hazy deep brownish amber with a nice tight lasting head. Aroma is caramel and toffee sweetness with added fruity esters, and decent jack daniels bourbon but not over the top - mixes well- also some nutty ashy roast hints, and some nutty chocolate. Flavor is chocolate, caramel, caramel and brown sugar sweetness which adds to the jack daniels bourbon sweetness, oaky, slight vanilla, brown sugar, and earthy- finishes mostly clean with not too much alcohol heat- easy drinking. sebletitje (10293) - Enghien, BELGIUM - APR 13, 2010

Same version of the Dig D old ale just with the added goodness of barrel aging.
Nice dark fruits, rich matly with enough chocolate, caramel, hints of vanilla, subtle warming abv and the right amount of barrel. drowland (9074) - Georgia, USA - APR 6, 2010
On tap at the brewpub during RBWG 2010. The aroma is mainly bourbon barrel, plenty of oak, vanilla, tannins, etc. The flavor has those elements as well, though slightly subdued, with some malt sweetness hanging out as well.
