Maybe it's just because I hadn't had a beer in a while, but the glass of Jack the Quaffer that I had was one of the best I've had in a loooong time. The appearance and aroma pretty good, but once you have a sip...that's when you realize that the palate and flavor are amazing! Very carbonated, not bitter at all, very smooth and enjoyable. mike5326 (1779) - virginia beach, Virginia, USA - FEB 10, 2014
Poured from a tap. Dark brown color, nice long lasting plush off white head. Great sweet roasted malt fragrance. Smooth creamy sweet roasted malt flavor with a clean palate.

On tap at the new brewpub. Poured Dark Brown with a medium brown head. Aroma was heavily roasted with chocolate and coffee. Flavor was a rich chocolate, coffee, and plenty of roasted goodness. Really good malty body. Outstanding porter. hophead75 (2012) - Largo, Florida, USA - JAN 12, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 13, 2008 Sampled at TBBC. Very dark brown in color with light ruby highlights at the bottom of the glass. Aroma: alot of chocolate as well as some roasty and lightly ashy black patent, hints of smoke, light citrus and floral hops. Taste is very roasty but not over the top, tons of chocolate, and a moderate amount of molasses. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy. FInishes with lingering chocolate/roast (black patent). This was probably my favorite beer of the day. BeerFanDan17 (1122) - Brunswick, Maine, USA - SEP 4, 2008
Sampled at the Tampa Lowry Park Zoo WaZoo Festival in August 2008. An excellent malty and chocolatey porter. Dark and robust.

Wow, this was brutally good. Some tanginess, but on the whole very well balanced. Good carbo fizz, medium body. Lots of roast, dry, good hopping. envane (572) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 20, 2004
Cask. Chocolate aroma. Flavour is chocolate w/ a little roast. The cask version is ridiculously smooth. scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 7, 2005
Ultra dark brown, thick tanned head. Nose on this one was all about chocolate, dark roasted coffee and cream, toasted brown sugar, with a slight vanilla bean tone hidden below. Flavor was similar, well balanced, yet nicely hopped on the backside to round it out. Medium to full bodied, medium carbonation, velvety, smooth roasted finish. Really nice session brew....

Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and hints of coffee. Dark brown color with a thick tan lasting head. Creamy feel witha taste of cocoa and bitter chocolate with a short lasting bitter coffee finish. mgumby10 (1856) - Jupiter, Florida, USA - JUL 29, 2007
Probably my favorite beer from these guys. Pours a very dark brown, with a light brown head. Looks medium to full bodied. Some toasted malts, a little chocolate, and a mild roastiness all filled the air around the glass. The roast really showed up in the flavor, with a decent amount of coffee, some mild chocolate and dark malts were there too. Very creamy mouthfeel, that seemed to drink really easy. Not a very strong beer, but it left a good impression on me.
