Pint pour, stout like appearance with khaki head. Nose is plenty of roast with a moderate amount of bright citrus and a little orange peel zestiness. Flavor is similar, more roast than hop character but the hops follow through. Really enjoyable actually. Travlr (26423) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - DEC 24, 2014

Growler sample at RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours brown to dark brown in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have some roasted malts, mild dark chocolate, resiny and earthy hops with moderate bitterness to the finish. Note as bold in the roasted malt department as the standouts of the category, but decent enough to try. Sledutah (7978) - Utah, USA - FEB 18, 2014

Growler shared that to jcwattsruger at RBWG grand tasting! Pours a lighter brown with minimal head and light lace. Aroma of decent piney hops, less roast than I would like. Taste follows, solid, nothing crazy or over the top. mike5326 (1788) - virginia beach, Virginia, USA - FEB 10, 2014
Poured from a tap. Light brown color with a reddish hue, long lasting medium off white head. A light floral hop fragrance. Nice floral hops flavor with mild nutty characters and a slightly fruity finish.

Deep amber pour with tan head and lace. Aroma is stiff resiny hops. Flavor is dominated by the hops and a semi sweet maltiness. A bit out of balance for me. ok but a black ipa should be black
