The original does what is says on the tin really, nicely roasty, far too easy to drink and perfect for this time of year!

Tap East. Semi opaque brown - red beer, smooth pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Nice mild dark malts. Mild milky chocolate. Mild fruity tang. Touch of bubblegum ester. Neutral finish. Like this! Fresh and a bit different!

Cask conditioned at Tap East Pub & Brewery, Stratford, London. Dark chestnut with white head. Smooth, dark roasted beer although with a fair alcohol note. There is a burnt malt hint, quite husky, chocolate bitterness and alcohol fruitiness. A decent enough beer really although on a Sunday lunchtime it was a little heavy.

Cask at Tap East, London. Pours clear, red-brown with a fine, tan cream head. Lightly roasty aroma with bread and chocolate. Light to medium sweet flavor with moderate roast, rich bread, chocolate bar, very mild bitter earth, some chalky cocoa. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Very faintly sticky sweet finish with good chocolate character, light dryness. Very nice porter.
