Cask in Tap East. Brown. Interesting, quite full of flavour, earth, a bit of diacetyl, burnt chocolate cake, bitter finish. Not perfect but pretty good.

(Cask at Union Tavern, Westbourne Park, London, 22 Nov 2013) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy, beige head. Malty roasted nose with notes of caramel, chocolate and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, chocolate, dark rye bread and a dry finish with a gentle bitterness. Rather light body, quite dry. Tasty and well balanced mild. Quite nice.

Cask @ brewery. Pours a dark cola with a decent, latte-colored head. Aroma is dark malts, bready and caramelly. But not in the same way a dunkel or a porter. Hard to explain the difference. More earthy one might say. Taste is dark malty, dry bready, small floweriness. Some cacao. Again a bit earthy, setting it apart from dunkels, porters or bitters. Light with not much carbonation. Definitely sessionable.
