American Standard is an all-American Session Pale Ale, hand crafted using premium American ingredients. This beer displays a bright hop flavor and aroma, yet very little bitterness. To achieve this flavor profile, we used no bittering hops. Instead we emphasized the hop character with a first wort addition, then twenty minute and whirlpool additions. Each of these processes adds flavor, while yielding minimal bitterness. We used Cascade and Zythos hops, which impart a distinctive and refreshingly citrusy character, reminiscent of tangerines and grapefruit. This beer is also generously dry hopped, using the same Cascade and Zythos hops. Our choice of malt is simple, employing wheat flakes for added body and a pillowy mouth feel, along with a touch of Victory malt for a slightly toasty note. Crystal 15 is also in the mix, which imparts a bright golden color.

Pours a deep gold with a head that lingers. Aroma is faint but interesting: hay, some caramel, some grass, basement aromas... It’s interesting enough that I upgraded it to a six while typing. Taste is very waited towards the bitter, could use more balance. This a light bodied ale with a thin texture, with some lively carbonation, and a lingering bitter finish. Session-able... Would drink again.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2015 650ml bottle purchased for a mere buck 50. Golden pour. Earhty caramel aroma, some pine and citrus. Flavor is more caramel focused and crappy. Not sure why this is called a session ipa on here.

Headbanger (4021) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - SEP 28, 2014
22oz bottle 9/28/14 (Binnys Naperville)-48° in Shaker=Pours a hazy amber with a loose white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, and malt. Taste of the same. This light to medium bodied brew is not too shabby.

JaKeAFC (1283) - ITALY - AUG 8, 2014
65cl bottle, 4.90€, 5.0%. Clear yellow color with some particles in suspension, massive white head, hoppy/soapy nose. Aroma is intensely hoppy, american hops, resin, citrus, pine, apple. Taste is crisp, moderately bitter. Light body, watery, bitter finish somewhat harsh. According to label, quite sessionable, hoppy APA.

CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 26, 2014
Pours a lasting huge white head atop a non-carbonated orange golden body. Nose of sweaty shoes. Lightly hopped and very thin. Bland.

Alanthebeerguy (270) - British Columbia, CANADA - APR 5, 2014
#22 - pours cloudy yellow amber. Good that vanishes, little lacing. Smells of citrus, orange, mild nose. Taste is orange, lemon and clean. The beer taste watered down and the flavours are muted. Fresh and clean, but not much going on. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is labeled a "session pale ale" but it is definitely hopped enough to be an IPA. Bomber from local liquor store. Gold pour with a moderate head, leaves thin lacing. Aroma is dominated by grapefruit and grain. Too bitter for my taste, more like an aggressive American IPA. They use good ingredients it’s just not the style that I like. Light body, slick texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish.

From bottle to pint glass. Aroma of overt citrus and resiny hops. Bright orange and clear with a solid white head. Although no bittering hops used, there is a harsh spike in this beer that give a bittering feel to it. Aroma of grapefruit and white bread seem subdued to this mid-palate anomaly. Some husky cereal grains finish off the beer.

BeerAdvent 2013 Day 22. Pours light amber white head. Nose is cascade punchiness, tangerine and some tropical fruits, pine. Flavour is same and has a nice balance of caramel malt. Glad someone tagged it as an "India Session Ale", it reminds me of a beer up here marketed as that style called "Bottle Rocket". As they say down in Cali "Good on ya, mate".

bhensonb (15760) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 27, 2013
Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours light translucent gold with a slight white head. Citrus aroma. Med body or so. Not much caramel, but there’s quite a bit of citrus hop - even so much I could believe orange/tangerine zest. It’s dry and citrously bitter. Good session ale.
