Here at Tap It Brewing we take a unique approach toward crafting an India Pale Ale and challenge the current status quo. The goal? To craft an India Pale Ale hoppy in flavor and aroma that goes down smooth. We utilize the avant-garde method of First Wort Hopping, the technique of adding hops to the kettle before boil. This creates a harmonious explosion of hop aroma and flavor noticeable throughout the tasting experience. Fragrances of tangerine and grapefruit entice the nose. A thick hazy rich head leads drinkers toward an experience rich in citrus and earthy flavors ending with a smooth, sticky finish. The complex floral and citrusy tones from Citra and Simcoe hops welcome you, while two more hop varietals mate smoothly with four malt varieties for an unmatched aroma. Altogether, a crisp pleasurable full bodied taste. A word of caution: Drinking Tap It IPA around friends may cause envy.

22 oz. bottle from Costco. It pours a very clear, rich golden color with an off white head. The aroma is full with toasted malt. A little caramel, but mostly toasted maltiness. Also some potent pine, floral, herbal and fruity hops. Pretty balanced. The flavor is is pretty much the same. More toasted malt with a bigger caramel presence. Pine, herbals, orange and some citric notes near the finish. Nice, subdued bitterness. Overall, a pretty enjoyable brew although kind of forgettable.

One of my go to IPAs. Not too pricey, found at Costco for $3.50 for .22 oz. Smell is great, floral, citrus, grapefruit. Nice amber color, with tight white foamy head that retains itself through the pour. This is what I consider a great west coast IPA, only other craft brew that I’ve had that’s as good is Sculpin’s IPA. I home brew and was able to create a similar brew using mainly Amarillo, Citra and Simcoe hops for aroma and flavor. Great beer!

Bottle shared at Beer Temple. Pours clear dark golden with an off white head. Aroma of doughy malts upfront, very light fruits and a light vanilla touch. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. This bottle as at its drink by date which probably explains the lack of aroma hops.

Medium amber, tan head. Aroma of sweet, heavy citrus. Medium, smooth body, flavour is light vanilla, medium sweet, lightly bitter.

Bottle: Clear, dull tan hue with a medium to thick head and good lace. A mix of orange rind, or and licquor, caramel and some fresh malt. Hint of yeasty fruit. Dry to off dry, not sour but fresh and moderately high bitterness. Good depth of flavor. Clean, long and fresh due to the high CO2. Loads of malt and delicate hops. East Coast style IPA in my opinion. I like the malt profile.

Trolleo (1533) - Pula / Zagreb, CROATIA - MAY 2, 2015
Cloudy orange color, minimal white head. Grassy and hoppy aroma, nothing unexpected. Nice and easy to drink, moderate bitterness, not too strong. Maybe even bit too light, but still tasty enough. Thin body, soft carbonation.
