Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of cocoa, roast, coffee, hints of dark fruit into a bit of spice, slight yeasty note. Taste was a mix of grass, cocoa, coffee, hints of dark fruit, finishing fairly bitter, slightly sweet.

On tap 11-16-2016 at Dash-In, Fort Wayne, IN. This beer’s appearance when served is a small caramel head with a short retention, opaque dark brown body and a fair amount of lacing adorns the glass. The aroma is light hops and malt. The flavor is malt, rich tasting and lightly sweet. The mouthfeel is smooth and semi-thick. This beer is medium bodied. A quffable beer but could use more flavor to get me to drink it again.

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a extremely small sized head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque black brown colored body and a good lacing. The weak aroma was brown malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong roasted malt aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of sweet brown malt dark malt and hops. An OK brew just nothing special.

Pours a jet black with a tan foam head. Aroma is roast, coffee, chocolate, earthy hops, and light hints of dark fruit. Flavor is roast and coffee up front, with bittersweet chocolate and earthiness. Has a very light bitterness and a dry finish. Carbonation is soft and body is light. Very solid, enjoyable porter.

16 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky tan head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, light nuttiness, raisin, plum, licorice, light smoke/char, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, light nuttiness, raisin, plum, licorice, light smoke/char, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop and roasted bitterness with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, raisin, plum, licorice, light smoke/char, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from roast/hop bitterness that increases through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding English porter style! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. This is very rich and complex for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
