Bottle shared by durwoodx. Thanks Darrell.
The beer is light brown with a lasting beige cap. The aroma offers toffee, malt, alcohol, followed by a piny hop presence. Surprisingly smooth, with a balance of hops and malts. Alcohol presence is there, but unobtrusive. Great feel. Strong, yet soft on the palate. My first brew from Taps, this was tasty. Recommended.

On tap at Taps. Brown pour, light head. Aroma of light brown sugar, some toffee, bready notes, and toasted malt. Flavor is carame forward, some bready flavors, resiny bitterness. anders37 (26878) - Malmö, SWEDEN - AUG 5, 2012
Draft @ the Brea location. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel and dark fruit aroma with hoppy hints. Fruity malty hoppy bitter caramel and dark fruit flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter caramel finish. KyotoLefty (10611) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 21, 2012
Draught at the Brewpub. Very dark brown with lace. Caramel nose, fruity, plain. A bit of hops. Caramel and alcohol. Nice body. Decent but nothing fantastic. hopscotch (11182) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 20, 2012
Growler… Very dark copper ale with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. The aroma offers a mishmash of candied dates and figs, light cocoa, a hint of leather and a mild earthy component. Full-bodied, but a touch thin with gentle carbonation. The flavor is a clash of sweet dark malts and bitter, rindy hops. Finishes bittersweet, then grassy, then only bitter. The cloyingly sweet sugars and acutely bitter hops don’t seem to come together here. Both are extreme and seemingly at-odds with each other. Not at all flawed; just rough around the edges and segregated. Growler courtesy of richiesd!

(Draught at GABF) rich copper with creamy tan head. Nose is quite hoppy, honey, sweet caramel, smooth and rich nose with pine resins as well. Taste of chlorine, honey, maple syrup, bittersweet chocolate malt. Creamy body, bittersweet caramel linger. Slightly medicinal as well. Chuckaduck (674) - Highland Heights, Kentucky, USA - APR 16, 2011
Opaque reddish color with no head. The aroma is sweet and strong, alcohol and dark fruits. Sweet fruity and caramel flavors are balanced with strong bittersweet alcohol taste. Big bodied, big flavored beer. Goes down smooth and delicious and hits hard when it lands. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - APR 13, 2011
On tap at the brewery. It pours dark reddish brown with a khaki head. The aroma is rather weak with some alcohol, caramel, hints of dark fruit. The flavor is the same and unfortunately is dominated by a greenish alcohol flavor. There is some sweet caramel and brown sugar in there, with little to no hop bitterness. The body is full.
