Draught. Arbitrary score 4/5 for Appearance, as nighttime conditions prevented correct assessment. Coffeenose, coffeesweets "beans", intense coffeearoma, but nowhere sharp. Impressive. Really like cold coffee with sugar, but in a really good way. Bitter in the background. Even dry-out effect. Feels intense, concentrated into dryness; Some beer - one to try if you can. brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - MAR 31, 2012
Almost black in color with a tan head. Really simple and straightforward: this smells like coffee. There’s a little bit of dark chocolate and some nice roasted malt character. The story is pretty much the same on the palate: lots and lots of coffee flavor. Intense coffee, a hint of vanilla, and a fair amount of roasted malt and dark chocolate. Really good. kegbear (436) - Orange, California, USA - MAR 18, 2012
On Tap. Jet black with creamy tan head. Coffee aroma and strong coffee flavor. Sweet malt, chocolate and caramel. A great coffee stout. beersearcher (2382) - Glendale, California, USA - MAR 17, 2012
This is a serious breakfast beer. Big coffee aroma and strong but not bitter coffee taste throughout. If you like coffee beer, then you will love this. Very smooth. Sampled at the Reserve Society Celebration 2012. BMan1113VR (7930) - Los Angeles, California, USA - OCT 20, 2011
Bottle. Pours with a pitch black body with a small tan head that lasts. Aromas of coffee, coffee creamer, bready, vanilla, light roasted malt, very rich. Flavors are HUGE, rich and fresh roast, a bit nutty, some vanilla. Vibrant coffee character. Chocolate, maple. Minimal bitterness overall. Alcohol is completely hidden, silky mouthfeel with light carbonation. Very tasty!

Appearance: Black with a big tan head
Aroma: Roasted malts, chocolate and coffee
Taste: Toasted malts and coffee
Very nice beer
Tap at the Bruery Anniversary. Rating #2. Pitch black with a dark head. This beer was super smokey and super roasty which dominated the flavor and aroma, but that’s alright. Lots of coffee flavor, like I said, big roast. (1808) JohnnyJ (5569) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 23, 2011
I don’t think this is the same as the regular taps irs. On draft at the bruery anny party. Black pour, short tan head. Heavy on with roasted malt and coffee, with some chocolate and caramel. Fairly dry, but still big and rich. Well done.
