On tap at the Brea location. An off-white head sits on top of a clear, amber body. The aroma is a tad neutral, caramel and a grassy, fruity touch escapes the glass. There’s some roasted notes in the flavor, caramel, bitterness and some grassy hints. Quite dry, pleasant carbonation level. A style that bores me, but this was quite decent. 130812 brokensail (16678) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 28, 2010
A: The pour is a medium to dark amber color with with an off-white head on top. gunnfryd (15330) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 28, 2014
S: The aromas are pretty standard for a red ale: sweet caramel and toasted, biscuity malts. There isn’t much in the way of hop aroma.
T: The nose led me to believe this would be a pretty decent (though not amazing) red ale. However, I was gravely disappointed. The flavor had some initial sweet, caramel maltiness followed by a very off flavor that I can only describe as olives.
M: The body is medium and the carbonation is quite lively.
D: The off, olive flavor really ruins this beer. I was really glad I only got a taster glass rather than a full pint of this beer.
Amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is berries, malt, yeast. Flavour is berries, malt, yeast, butter, caramel. Medium body. Boring beer.
