Our newest product, Taps Red Cream Ale is beginning to rival our Premium Lager in popularity with our customers. It is a delicious, full-bodies ale with a clear, beautiful red colour. Cream ale is made by using ale yeast fermented and conditioned at colder temperatures. The colder temperature causes a slower, more gradual fermentation, resulting in a smoother flavour. Our Red Cream Ale has a full-bodies silky texture that is crisp and strong in flavour, with a fresh, clean finish.

Orange/bronze in colour, very small white coloured head, very patchy light lacing. The aroma is very appley, quite sweet, some sourness. The flavour is fruity, lightly floral, some grains, high sweetness. Sweet mouthfeel, light body, medium/light carbonation. Fiishes sweet, lingering, late dryness.

Words can’t describe how boring this beer is.

473ml can from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario.
Opened on December 21, 2007.

I tried this beer on May 9, 2008 after purchasing from the Queen’s Quay LCBO outlet. The beer poured a beautiful translucent rusty red colour with some effervescence leading to a short-lived whitish head. The aroma was sweet malt, some fruit tones (I’m thinking plums), and a little hoppiness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, amply carbonated, and a little sour on the tongue. The flavour is no where near as fruity as the aroma. There is some sweet maltiness, some sourness in the middle, and slightly bitter finish. This beer suited my tastes quite well.

(Rating #1356)

500ml can. Murky red color. NIce finger of head, good lacing on my glass. Aroma is sweet, kinda like cake icing, but i can detect some hops in there, along with some ripe fruit. Flavour is clean, and slightly malty, with a touch of hops, and the sweetness from the aroma is there in the finish. Mouthfell is slightly thick, i guess you could say creamy. Wow, i must admit i wasn;t expecting much, but this is a very nice offering.

473ml can from trade with matt7215. Pours hazy orange. Frothy and large off white head, lasts forever. Floral aroma with a bit of mal fruitiness. Lemony hops are up front, tangy, a bit sour, this fades to some toasty malt with a bit of light leafy green hops in the finish. Light body with little carbonation. Was expecting a much sweeter product, the tartness was interestng.

Can. Pours a hazy amber with a frothy head. Malts dominate the aroma and flavor. Weird blend of sweet and sour.

473 ml can. pours light reddish brown with a small off white head. aromas are sickly sweet, so much so i know this is not goin to be enjoyable just from the aroma. flavours are very sweet fruit, caramel, brown sugar. this is probably as sweet as dragon stout but in cream ale format, which makes it intolerable. i will not buy it again.

Can. Fourth beer of the night for my own Swill (or almost swill) Fest. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a small diminishing off-white head. Mild aroma of sour apples, grain, sweet malt and...meh, I don’t know -- too sour and crappy. Flavour is also sour and grainy, almost astringent and harsh, along with some sugary sweetness. Light to average bodied. Man, this just isn’t good, I would think this is off but I just got this can a week ago. A typical awful Canadian Cream Ale.

had a bottle of this today, not a fav unfortunatly, very accidic i found in the nose all the way through, there are definatly some malts there but ohh i think the clear bottle has hurt this poor beer.

On tap @ the brewery - My 2nd of 3 samples from the Taps line. After the premium lager, this one didn’t quite stack up, but it was still a nice beer. Some interesting malt character - I almost thought I detected corn in there, but they don’t use any. Slight fruity finish, but it works. I’ll try this again in a bottle or a can when I haven’t tasted the best of their stuff right beforehand!
