11.2oz bottle. just another gem from my buddy deftim. thanks, tim! pours a deep, rich garnet that sits black in the glass topped by a razor thin beige head that leaves a tight ring of lace. aroma is truly wonderful with and quite unique with notes of heavy dark chocolate, black cherries, plum skins, and brown-sugar coated figs backed by toffee, toasted barrel, coconut cookies, and spice cake. flavor is fantastic as well with more rich barrel notes of vanilla, coconut, caramel, and ashy bourbon coming forward ahead of black forest cake (chocolate and cherry), vinous notes, and cinnamon with a touch of roast on the back end. palate is smooth and full bodied with a rich, velvety texture and a beautifully balanced finish of chocolate, dark fruits, and woody bourbon. overall, this really is a great barrel aged imperial stout that represents the essence of the style.

Bottle shared by Keir back at the Presidential Suite at the Omni after the RBSG-STL Grand Tasting, 2014. Must be this vintage because its what Chris rated and his notes were more thorough than mine, particularly at this time of night. Pours a deep brown with no head. Notes of molasses, chocolate, roasted malts, dark fruits, caramel, vanilla, a little spice. Medium-full bodied, with a smooth mouthfeel and low carbonation. Rich, pretty good. The other variants Ive had fresh indicate that this was once better. They make a good barrel aged imperial stout.

11.2oz bottle. Tasted at RBSG grand tasting post-tasting. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Good thin ring of off-white head. Kind of crisp . Light slick. Caramel malt, dark fruit. Light spice. Moderate sweet, some heat. Meh.

P: Black with a one finger brown head. S: Fudge with a heavy dose of bourbon, lingering oak, cacao, molasses and a hint of vanilla. T: Chocolate, nuts, oak, bourbon , leather and a kick of alcohol towards the end. M: Medium body, silky with a low level of carbonation. O: Nothing that would put this one apart from other BA stouts but nice nonetheless.

Had on tap I their south corona place. This is the most phenomenal brew ever. Is it the barrel the oak or the caramel richeness. I can not put this in words. A vinious rich malt bomb with a wine characteristic. Great heat just pure greatness

What an incredible beer! Dark black body with a medium head, the aroma is coconut, vanilla, roasted malt and dark chocolate. The taste and aftertaste are also so amazing with a lot of coconut, dark chocolate and the aged bourbon notes... alcohol very present but smooth for the high abv. Very highly recommended IRS!

Bottle shared by GatorGuy92. Cheers, Matt! Pours a deep stout brown with a tan head. Nose is roast, chocolate, booze, vanilla, bourbon, and goodness. Flavor is similar- a burst of vanilla, chocolate, bourbon, some light booze, and coffee. Medium in body and respectably great.
