In short: A darker Lithuanian beer offering a stack of toasted hay with a light farmhouse character. Highly drinkablevisionthing (5406) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 13, 2014
How: Bottle 500ml. Consumed fresh the day of purchase, split 4-way
The look: Almost clear dark-golden body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose has plenty of very toasted hay (a recurring theme with many Lithuanian traditional breweries), some cookies and light rural farmhouse character. Taste is once again very toasted, a bit of caramel and toffee, some roasted wood. Overall low sweetness sensation. This one is an average just a slightly above average Lithuanian Tamsus but I really dig the dryness and the super-toasted character of those Lithuanian darker ales. Very sessionnable. Another good Lithuanian beer with only bad ratings except those from some of my friends from Montreal, you guys are alright, I’ll kill you last.
50cl bottle got as a gift. Pours hazy caramel brown with an off-white head. Malty and caramelly aroma with mild fruity notes and hints of wet wood and vanilla. Medium sweet with caramel dominated flavour, light acidity and quite balanced bitterness. On the sweet side, but quite tasty and easy to drink. Arve_Christian (5175) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 13, 2014
On bottle with Visionthing, thanks a lot!hazy copper colored, ok foam. Aromas of malt, dried fruits. Medium body & complexity. A little bit on the sweet side, balances good. Pretty ok beer OleR (4804) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 29, 2013
0.5 L bottle shared by larsga. Unclear copper colored body. Low dirty blond head. Rich caramel aromas, some toasted grain and a hint of fresh grass. Caramel-accented malt body. Peppery and toasted, and light acidic. Fruity yeast tones. Soft on the palate. Quite full. Nice acidity linger in the finish. Exciting stuff. A farmhouse Dunkel?

dobre i prawie rewelacyjne piwo. Miłośnikom kwaśnych lambicków napewno przypadnie do gustu. Kolor przypomina raczej dzikie Ale niż dunkela.

2 litre bottle (5.3% abv) from an ethnic foodstore in Scunthorpe. Hazy red brown, thin but sustained cream coloured head and gentle condition. Initial buttery sweet caramel notes in the nose but developing a peppery spiciness as it warms, some earthiness from the hops and a touch of burnt smokiness from the darker malts. Quite sweet from the start in the mouth but a dry bitterness and burnt toast note quickly balances this out, theres a background yeastiness and a suggestion of butteriness akin to a German dunkel but with a tangy fruit note lurking in the background and lingering into the finish where it is joined by a gentle chalky yeast bitterness that becomes dominant but never opressive. Bottle 50 cl, BBE 12/2013. Pours hazy brown in color with a tan head. Sweetish
toffee, light notes of butter and slightly burnt bready notes in aroma. Toasted
bread, butterscotch and nutty notes in taste. Easy to drink with just the right
amount of flavors. Burnt dark breadyness with mineral notes in finish. I do like
this kind of interpretations of dunkels. trapped (3218) - New York, TURKEY - NOV 1, 2015
Bottle in Klaipeda Gastropub, Kiev. Hazy dark brown with reddish tint, small frothy beige head, low carbonation, slightly sweet, spicy caramel taste, smooth body, abrupt finish with little caramel aftertaste. Quite mellow and easy to drink. dnicolaescu (2607) - Chișinău, MOLDOVA - JUL 20, 2015
SWING-TOP 1L. Hazy red, tan frothy head. Aroma of caramel, cherries, spicy hops, dry leaves. Some smoked cheese far behind. The flavour is similar, fruity with a zesty bitter finish. Smooth, silky mouthfeel. Despite the rustic feel to it, it feels quite clean. boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 9, 2013
Bottle. Pours reddish brown with a small tan head. The aroma is roast, rye bread, toffee. The taste is sweet, roasted malt, some caramel. Best part of this beer is the brewery name.. which I repeatedly called "Can of penis."
