MUCH LIKE THE FREE SPIRITS OF TATAMAGOUCHE, THIS UNFILTERED PALE ALE IS APPROACHABLE, REFRESHING, AND ORGANIC. THE AHTANUM HOPS LEND FLORAL AND SPICY HINTS WITH AN EARTHY PINE AROMA. NO HIPPIES WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS BEER!

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2017 473 ml can. G1.17. At the Timo A's Maritimes Tasting.
Slightly hazy orange color with a tiny off-white head. Apricot and peach in the aroma. The flavor dry fruity hops, dryness, mild bitterness and malt.

473 ml can @ Timo A’s Maritimes Tasting.
Pours clear golden color with a small head. Orange peel on the nose, faint peach, some pine and hops. Flavor is bitter, some fruitiness, grassy tones, some herbs too. Feels a bit harsh, not pleasant, disappointing.

47,3 cl can @ Timo A’s Maritimes Tasting. Thanks!
Aroma is quite mild with some cereal-like malt and fruits. Flavour has somewhat harsh hops with bush leaves, gooseberry bush, some grapefruit and plastic. Harsh and musty, not good.

Can. Hazy orange with white head. Fruity orange and bread malt. Could use a little more carbonation but still good.

473 ml can poured at the cottage. Pours hazy orange with a white head that disappeared quickly. Didn't smell good; sickly sweet with toffee or caramel notes. Taste was a combo of grass, orange and bitterness. I thought it tastes like a gross cheap beer, which hasn't been the case from the other beers I've tried from there. Disappointed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a growler: Hazy amber with low activity. Foamy white 2 finger head, lasting around 2 minutes, with a bit of lacing. Flavors of apricot, caramel, lemon, mangos, sweet grains, belgian yeast, herbal spices. The smell is heavily alcoholic. Mostly sweet with minimal bitterness. Slick and smooth medium body with soft prickly carbonation. Light finish that lingers with floral hops, sweet malts, and dry yeast. Slight citrus and esters. Not sharp enough, a bit flat having mediocre freshness. Decent flavors and feel. Overall good quality craft but not very english.

A subdued aroma of floral hops, pours a hazy caramel color with a lasting white well laced head. Taste of fruit, peach and pineapple. Medium body with a very mild short lasting hop finish minimal bitterness.

Purchased at the brewery on our trip to Nova Scotia. Pours a hazy golden colour with a warm soapy cap that stays around a while and gives patchy foamy lacing. Fruity nose with some good grain and spicy hops in the background. The bitterness of the hop is excellent for a Pale Ale over the grainy malt with adds its fruitiness. Quite an awesome product and was glad to see the signs for this as we got closer. Worth the stop.

My Bottom Line:
Oranges are met by rising grassy bitterness in this very fruity Pale Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the shiny orange.
-Hop fruitiness is also reminiscent of peach and mango.
-The lean and prickly mouthfeel makes for high drinkability.
-This is a clean brew which is not just for IPA lovers since the bitterness is mostly overcome by fruitiness.

On tap at a restaurant in Halifax.

Brought back by some fine friends, I was pretty excited to split this brew with fellow Ratebeerian Hidden Pooch in our quest for righteous beerdom. A stately looking unfiltered amber ’do, a white head revealing aromas of honey, sweet tropical fruit and cereal. One sip treats the tongue to a honey sweetness that is rounded out by a light fruity bitterness. This hippie is a mid carbonated and mid bodied chap with a rather pleasant bittersweet finish.
