Very enjoyable. Bottled. Fresh, grassy aroma. Pours bright, clear amber with thick and lasting head. Tastes clean, malty first, then good balance of hoppy bitterness - grapefruit predominates, some bitter orange - maybe slightly too much in the direction of an American IPA. Tastes full in mouth, slightly fizzy (but then it is bottled) - about the right balance for a best bitter. I suppose if you were being picky, this could pass itself off as an IPA - but that’s not necessarily a bad thing

BlackHaddock (7514) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 10, 2015
500ml bottle: BBE Sep 2015. Poured into an Abbot Ale badged glass tankard at home on 10 Mar 2015: shared with no one! Nice clear amber golden body with a full, deep foaming head, off-white in colour. Light malty nose with a malty lead in the taste also, some slightly bittering hops come through but this is a pleasant blend with a malt base, the hops playing second fiddle most of the time.

ManVsBeer (10795) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 21, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2015 Bottle from Booths, Media City. It’s almost an amber beer in style and look with a pleasant orange citrus taste, but its texture is also that of a bitter, but not a best bitter. Tangy and tasty.

Cask @ Lion Tavern, Liverpool 030113
Amber copper, clear, white head, dissipates to thin layer
Aroma - caramel malts, some spicy bitter hops, slight herbal note
Taste - caramel malts, nice spicy bitter hop, bit herbal, touch of toasted malt, good bitter flavour
Palate - Light body, clean finish.
Overall - This was a really decent bitter

berkshirejohn (6588) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - DEC 1, 2012
50cl bottle from the Tatton estate shop. Bright amber with a thin cream head; pleasant malty aroma; crisp citrus taste to start with a smooth malty body; and a gentle but lasting grassy bitterness. A rather good bitter.

downender (8729) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 9, 2012
Cask-conditioned at the Cheshire Beeriodical, Seven Stars, Bristol October 2012. Amber with a decent, off-white head. Solid malts, some citrus fruit and a decent, bitter finish. Fine.

oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - APR 26, 2012
Bottled (thanks to DJMonarch). Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, mild nuts, caramel and some eartyness. Flavour consists of the same with a quite bitter and dry floral and grassy finish.

Cunningham (8163) - Halden, NORWAY - NOV 6, 2011
UPDATED: MAR 5, 2012 On handpull in Liverpool. Dark amber colour with a creamy head. Moderate fruity and light malty aroma. Malty and medium fruity taste with a light carbonation.

Smells like salt and vinegar crisps, dry, some hops and biscuity, overall pretty standard bitter
