A full-tasting, satisfying deep golden special ale. This is a beer with a generous maltiness backed up by a robust hop character.

Pours a golden colour, slight hop on the taste and citrusy on the palate, a nice session beer

Cask at The Leeky Tap, Leek. A clear deep golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of caramel, biscuity malts, some plastercine, slight orange and subtle grassy hops. Taste of biscuity malts, cereal, slight caramel, some apricot, a little orange and subtle grassy hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, cereally, fruity bitterness in the finish. Not a bad pale ale, lots of different malt flavours and a slight hop bitterness. Sessionable but not exciting.

One-third pint, hand-pulled cask ale at Ship & Mitre. Firm beige head reduced to a patchy layer. Clear amber coloured body. Caramel and semi-dry fruits on the nose. Dried fruity taste added by moderate hints of brown malts. Smooth bittersweet tail. Tasty (Liverpool 31.01.2015).

Bottle from MediaCityUK [241114]
Amber, clear, frothy white head
Aroma of soft orange, soft sweet fruity malts, mellow nose
Taste more bitter than expected from aroma, soft cereals, sweet caramel malts, mainly just bitter hops, dab of citrus fruit
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, quite oily, sweet soft caramel, fairly bitter. Finish as main flavour, lingering bitter
Overall - Rather average - I dont think the filtering has done this much good. Found it a bit dull. Would probably be better on cask.

Pudding (229) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JAN 30, 2013
500ml bottle. A great deal of hop flavour present. It goes to show that it doesnt have to be American hops to produce a highly flavoursome ale. Well done Tatton!

A bright golden ale full of a pale fruity nose, no head. It has a fair bitterness to it but remains full of flavour.

50cl bottle from the Tatton estate shop. Bright amber with a ring of white head; a touch of farmyard in the aroma; full and rich with some apricot fruit to start and a smooth malty body; and a gentle but lasting herbal bitterness. Another rather good beer from Tatton.
