Pours amber brown with a minimal head. Aroma: nutty, malty, caramel, and bread. Tastes fairly sweet with low bitterness and a little sour bite.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft @ Singapore brewpub. Muddy brown with orange tint and a stable head. Immature dark malt aroma is husky but I don’t mind that. Soft palate is thick and yeasty. Remains husky but nice nonetheless with sweetish bread malt character.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2009 Nice untypical dunkel weizen. Beautiful aroma. Great wood, some spice and fantastic wheat notes. Smooth and sweet. Nice dry and, hint of bitter is just about right. Worth a try. Howver, be open-minded - it’s not your usual dunkel weizen.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown color with small creamy off-white head. Sweetish and lemony hoppy aroma. Starts a bit sour with creamy mouthfeel then when warms up comes very strong flavor of milk chocolate. You could almost call this "chocolate stout" (but being a lager, not).

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUN 28, 2010 Bangkok: Chestnut colour, hazy with cherrywood highlights. Toasty aroma with hints of peanut skins and dark chocolate. Flavour is largely toasty with faint nutty notes, a little woodiness. Body is thin for style, which allows the carbonation to be too aggressive and, along with the freezing serving temperature, to wipe out some of the flavours. Quick, off-dry finish. 7-3-6-3-12 = 3.1
Singapore: Rich chocolatey dark brown colour and thin head. Lightly chocolatey aroma with toasty notes. Thin, only vague dark malts. 7-4-5-2-12 = 3.0

Sampled draught at the brewpub.
Dark brown and cloudy with small beige head. Very roasty. Medium- light bodied with clean soft maltiness. Mild and lightly fruity. No trace of hops or bitterness.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A steam cloud rises over almost chocolate, roasted malt...In this field, berries grow out of the mud...Through this crowd hops rise, authentic but frowning...

Tap. I stumbled into their 3rd anniversary celebration with a big act on stage and a full house. This place is huge! The Dunkel was a muddy brown with a foamy light brown head. Roasted malt, slightly sweet, smooth, some chocolate. Aroma was heavy on the malt and sweet.
