The fermentation period lasts 28 days. It tastes slightly milder than lager beer but sweeter and less bitter resulted from tasty roasted malt.

omhper (25160) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - DEC 22, 2003
Sampled draught at the brewpub.
Dark brown and cloudy with small beige head. Very roasty. Medium- light bodied with clean soft maltiness. Mild and lightly fruity. No trace of hops or bitterness.

fiulijn (20516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 25, 2013
Draught at the brewpub in Singapore
Dark brown color. More than roasty, chocolate or nutty character, these dark malts give a dusty character to the beer; the bitterness is rather low.

mcberko (17854) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 15, 2017
On tap at Spark & Tawandang, pours a cloudy dark reddish brown with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out light toasted malt, some light nuttiness and a touch of red fruits. Flavour is dry, with toasted nuts, bready malt and a bit of a stale quality. Not bad, but could use some tweaking. Okay.

Oakes (17699) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 25, 2004
UPDATED: JUN 28, 2010 Bangkok: Chestnut colour, hazy with cherrywood highlights. Toasty aroma with hints of peanut skins and dark chocolate. Flavour is largely toasty with faint nutty notes, a little woodiness. Body is thin for style, which allows the carbonation to be too aggressive and, along with the freezing serving temperature, to wipe out some of the flavours. Quick, off-dry finish. 7-3-6-3-12 = 3.1

Singapore: Rich chocolatey dark brown colour and thin head. Lightly chocolatey aroma with toasty notes. Thin, only vague dark malts. 7-4-5-2-12 = 3.0

Dark brown color with small creamy off-white head. Sweetish and lemony hoppy aroma. Starts a bit sour with creamy mouthfeel then when warms up comes very strong flavor of milk chocolate. You could almost call this "chocolate stout" (but being a lager, not).

Ferris (15475) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 19, 2017
Draft - Light toasted dark malts. Solid brown with a rich beige head. Dark sugar and some raisin. Not bad.

Lubiere (13915) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 18, 2011
A reddish copper ale with a thin brown head. In aroma, smooth chocolate malt with fruity esters, dark fruits. In mouth, a chocolate malt, ligth and smooth, fruity, quite nice. On tap at brewpub on Rama 3, July 10, 2011.

kermis (13485) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 23, 2016
Draft at the brewpub. Very hazy brown with a light tan head. Aroma of caramel, malt and light dark fruity notes. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

gnoff (10513) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - AUG 14, 2013
Draught (sampled) at the brewpub in Singapore on July 9, 2013.
Hazy dark brown color, brown head. Sweet, malty, grainy, hints of toffee scent. Malty, dry taste. Dry, mineral, sand like aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.
Swedish saying "Inte mycket att hänga i julgranen" suits this one rather well, not bad, clean and all, but where’s the life and charcter of the beer?
