Take a Deduction, our abbey-style dubbel. This effervescent ale showcases sweet, malty notes with hints of dark fruit, complemented by mild bitterness from classic European hops. Belgian candi sugar helps deliver a light, dry body to this dark, approachable dubbel.

Can, courtesy of a friend living in the US. Pours dark amber with a medium head and a low retention. Aroma is sweet toasted malts, caramel, bark, dense dark bread, dark fruit, some solubles/glue. Body is heavy, very sweet and softly bitter, with a rather smooth texture and a soft lively carbonation. Malt forward, with caramel and dried dark fruit. Lingering sweet palate. Good.

Sampled at an ESBLS. Hazed and amber. A blotchy head. A malt and yeast aroma. Fruit, earth, wheat, malts, and heat flavors. Ok, I guess.

This canned brew from a beer bar poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized light auburn colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a no visible carbonation semi-opaque dark brown colored body and a poor lacing. The mild aroma was candy and brown malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish caramel hop aftertaste. The yummy flavor contained notes of mild hops candy caramel and malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Rated on 6-25-2016 at liquor store Summer event. When served, the appearance is a small tan head that is mostly lasting, brown body, very little carbonation observed, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma presents dark fruit, yeast, light spice, yeast, and caramel malt. The flavor presents dark fruit, yeast, light spice, lightly sweet, and caramel malt. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this beer is light-medium bodied. This is a very good beer for the style. It is very tasty and easy drinking. It is worth trying and a beer that I would partake in again.
