Bottle from my European Secret Santa 2013.Pours clear dark ruby with a big creamy beige head. Aroma of fruity malts, strange salty notes. Taste is light roasted malts, moderate sweet, smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonated, very light bitter end.

Bottle, thnx to Tomer. Pours a clear dark brown beer with a small off white head on top. Aroma is very malty, fruits and quite promising. Flavour seems a bit infected I guess, sour fruits and Brett-like characters going on that doesn’t really suits Mr. Looking at older ratings showed that is wasn’t any sour before, most sour trails come from pay few months. Seems like am off batch to me.

Thanks Cuso. Interesting experience to taste this beer, but one time is enough. Aroma is very nice like plum juice. But taste is like sour plums :-)

Bottle from trade with Tomer, many thanks. Dark brown color with small beige head. Plums, dark malt, some sour fruit in aroma. Taste, ripe plums, red berries marmalade, strong coffee tartness.

Bottled. Many thanks to Cuso. Aroma is excellent! Very promising of a plum marmalade or dried plums. However, the taste is sour like hell and undrinkable! Sour chocolate or coffee. Yuck!

Bottle shared by Cuso. Aroma brett, fruity. Very dark colour. Taste is not unlike sour beers, fruits. As a sour spontaneously fermented beer this could pass pretty well. I rate it as such.

Bottle, courtesy of Cuso. Pours brown color, white head. Aroma is sulfury, sourish, roasted malt. Taste is sourish, plums, coffee, roasted malt.

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2013 It’s been a few weeks since I had this beer, so I don’t remember the exact details, but suffice to say that it tasted so bad, that I couldn’t finish it. Granted I didn’t have any Dunkler Bock beers in the past, so I don’t have much to compare against, but I do love Dopple Bock beers and many of the attributes are supposed to be similar so I don’t think it’s the style that’s wrong. Just this specific beer.

Bottle. Pours opaque deep brown with a small head. Aroma starts unpleasantly with rubber and plastic though almost disappeared after several minutes, and faint smell of roasted malt comes out. Taste - light sweetness, caramel, roasted malts, dark chocolate. Light-medium body, smooth on the palate.
