3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark copper colored with a small head. The nose is of toasted biscuits or malt and caramel. Nice hop profile. There is a bit of butter in the aroma though. Great mouthfeel that is creamy and full bodied.
Sweet and grassy hops over thick sweet toffee and caramel in the aroma. Hazy deep copper coloured body is topped by a shy white head that recedes to ring with some sudsy lace. Toffee and butterscotch are prominent in the round sweet flavour with strong finishing bitterness. Medium body is quite dry with moderate, prickly carbonation. Sampled at Dix Xmas Extreme in Dec-07. Amber brown, small lasting beige head.Lightly fruity carmel nose.Light malt start, hop mid earthy finish, medium strength lasting hop bitterness
A solid effort, but could use a tad more malt balance. CapFlu (5129) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 25, 2007
(Draught) Sampled at Dix X-mas Xtreme Caskival 2007. Pours great fresh hop aroma. Very fruity, great malt balance and tart sour hoppy finish. Lasting pine flavour makes this one of my favourites for the day... and its my first sampling! Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 3, 2007
UPDATED: NOV 6, 2007 From cask at Dix. Impressive. Good hopping. Solid structure and not too carmelly in the malt department. Slightly opaque. Orange-copper-red-brown color. Nice casky head, co2 level, and palate. Oh, and a few hop leaves made it into my pint, giving me something to chew on and adding a unique texture :-)

Dullish amber colour. Big, deep fruity-hoppy nose (columbus, papaya, apple) with light spice. Creamy, bitter body with lots of caramelly, earthy malts. Leafy hop finish with just a hint of minerals...gorgeous. This has got to be Varga’s best beer yet.
