Sample at the brewpub. this beer is a solid dark brown color with some amber highlights around the edges. Medium and creamy beige head that diminishes steadily, and large patches of lacing on the glass. Roasted coffee and malt in the nose. Medium, dry body with flavors of roasted malt, coffee and semisweet chocolate. The finish is creamy and smooth with a mild coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall. On tap at Brew Kettle as Blarney Stone Irish Stout. Nearly black pour with a big creamy beige head. Roasted malt aroma with coffee and chocolate. On tap at the Brew Kettle as “Ringneck Dry Irish Stout” at 5.5%.. I’m guessing that the rating belongs here. Poured clear, medium reddish-brown with a tall, thick cap of beige head. The aroma picked up toasty, very dry chocolate first and foremost with lighter coffee grounds and earthy notes behind.. came off very well. The flavor found sweeter cocoa and darker chocolates paired with light coffee and earthy bitterness again on the edges.. light sour, oaken impression on the back.. well-balanced and nicely roasty. Draft at the Trolley Stop in Dayton. Pours dark brown with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like burnt coffee, burnt toast, very bitter and dry. Light body and low/medium carbonation. Smells like burnt toast, butter coffee, ash, and earth. Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - MAR 27, 2007
I had this outside at night, so the body looked black to me. The head, when head to a light, was a deep tan. Strong coffee notes are in the nose accompanied by bittersweet chocolate and roasted barley. The flavor’s fairly sweet even with all of its roasty qualities, the chocolate adding a balancing bitterness. II almost suspected bitter malts!) There’s a slight surge of sweetness before the finish when a roasted dryness takes over.

Smells of vanilla, choclate, malt, and coffee. Armoa is not that strong, like all of their beer. Dark black with big white head. Strong vanilla flavor infused with choclate. VERY tasty. <b>Unknown Date</b>: RN Dry Irish Stout is served via nitro tap so its black body is topped is a dense and creamy off-white head that leaves thick lacing on the glass. The flavor has darkly roasted malt, black barley, and a dry roasty finish. This medium-bodied beer has smooth and creamy texture. Overall this is a decently dry and robust Dry Irish Stout.

This bottle just says Irish Stout and is one of the older Brew Kettle some dude at his desk computer mock up labels. I’m assuming it’s the same beer, just different label than the photo.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown as expected, with a little bit of a tan head. Looks a bit thin as it pours. Aromas are kind of odd... a bit of nuts and coffee and such, but there is a strange bit of something like rotting vegetable of some sort that comes and goes. While I was worried that this would show up in the flavor, these fears turned out to be unfounded. There is a heavy coffee presence with a bit of peat and something sweet like cream and nuts. Pours a deep garnet/black holding a creamy, khaki head. Aroma of bitter coffee and bittersweet chocolate, a little sweet but, yes... coffee roasts tend to dominate. A bittersweet chocolate flavor is carried by a creamy mouth to a dry finish. Sweet caramel and milk chocolate notes come out before mild bitterness in the finish.
