Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a chalice. Appearance is a dark brown, near black with a thin diminishing, grey head of foam. Aroma is roasty, nutty, and cola-esque. It smells a touch like burnt toast. In the taste I get the burnt maltiness I came across in the aroma, but I also find a light licorice note in there. Thick, chewy palate with a warming effect on the back of the tongue. Interesting take on the style, that’s for sure. johnnnniee (4434) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 18, 2012
Pours a deep dark brown color with ruby highlights and a smallish tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Smells of light chocolate and caramel with a bit of earthy and floral hops playing a supporting role. Taste is chocolate and caramel with a bit of ash. Earthy bitter hops mix with a hint of alcohol to counter the malt sweetness. There’s a hint of melanoid in there that makes it a little interesting. A bit of a lingering alcohol burn on the finish. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. I thought this was only ok. It seems like a kicked up version of a macro lager with a bit of chocolate malt. Tap at TBK. Dark cheatnut pour with a creamy white head. Roast malt and slight smoke on this guy - quite enjoyable. sonnycheeba (6439) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JAN 20, 2012

Bottle. Almost black, bright tan head. Aroma of moldy leather. Taste of bitter chocolate soda. An unfortunate choice as my last beer of the tasting. BeerandBlues2 (13870) - Escondido, California, USA - JAN 7, 2012
Bottle. Pours clear black with a medium, fizzy off-white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is light caramel and chocolate malt, dark fruity esters and light hops. Flavor is dark malt and fruity esters, low hops and bitterness with a sweet finish. Light body, low warmth and medium carbonation. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - NOV 13, 2011
Pours a very dark brown. Aroma and flavor are similar, sort of a raisin influenced malt note throughout. Interesting, rather liked it. Capa (3500) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - NOV 8, 2011
Dark with a off white head. Aroma was clean with lightly roasted malts, light molasses, chocolate. Flavor was much the same and the roasted malts were quite restrained but noticable still. Body was fuller than many schwarzbiers I’ve had, which makes sense, and a bit smoother. Sweet finish. Good beer. Drake (14108) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 5, 2011
Bomber from Belmont Party Supply shared at the 16th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 11/5/11. Pours very dark brown with a medium fizzy brown head. Fair head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, smoke and sweet malts. The taste is rich roasted malts, coffee, sweet malts and faint hops. Medium-full bodied. Nice.
