Bottle thanks to Jcwattsrugger. Pours black with white head. Nose of roasted malts, grain and chocolate covered nuts. Taste of vanilla, roasted chocolate malts and nuts. Mild dry finish. bhensonb (15612) - Woodland, California, USA - SEP 23, 2012
Bottle from bittermestupid. Thanks Greg! Pours dark reddish brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma has lots of chocolate and smooth dark malt. Med minus body. Flavor is smooth dark malt, coffee and some dark chocolate. Flavor seems to be quite different from the aroma. It’s not exactly dry, but there’s enough chocolate and burnt malt to make up for that. Drinks really well. Ratman197 (15212) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUN 24, 2013
Bottle courtesy of Doodler (thanks Scott) poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of roastiness, bitter chocolate and light coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt and bitter chocolate with a smooth lingering roasty finish. Tmoney99 (14855) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 3, 2009
Draft sample at Brew Kettle. Poured a black color with a minimal creamy off-white head that was mostly lasting and produced fair lacing. Moderate roasted coffee malt and chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium roasted coffee flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Sold drinkable brew that went well with the pretzel & worst platter.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours black with dark brown around the edges. Medium thin beige head that has good retention. Thin sheet of lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma of malt and coffee. Medium-bodied with a rich coffee character, with sweet malt and mild hops flavors supporting it. The finish is equal parts hoppy and malty with a lingering espresso aftertaste. Pretty good all around. jcwattsrugger (12517) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - FEB 6, 2011
