Very nice. Pours a beautiful, clear mahogany color with off-white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma includes dark fruit, honey, malt, and cinnamon. Flavor is definitely sweet, but not syrupy. The ginger and nutmeg take a back seat in this one, with the honey, malt, cinnamon, and citrus peel dominating. The 8.2% ABV combined with the cinnamon delivers the "warming" you’d expect in a beer called Winter Warmer. Very, very nice. novels (424) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 15, 2012
A Christmas Ale from the Brew Kettle in Strongsville Ohio. A nice spicy note on the nose, with cinnamon and citrus peel, with subtle amber and honey notes. Pours a nice brown with a thin head, goes down easy and finishes crisp and clean. Great! matthewjk (1125) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 13, 2013
A pleasant experience; this is a well accomplished winter warmer with just the right peaks and valleys of sweetness and fun holiday adjuncts. Damn thing will warm you up. BeerBelcher (972) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 24, 2007
I had this on-tap at the Brew Kettle in Strongsville, and I was genuinely impressed. I’m not the biggest fan of this style, but I thought this example was true-to-style yet very approachable and drinkable.
The beer poured a dark amber which was clear and sparkling and had a loose but plentiful head atop it. Aroma was of holiday spice...nutmeg, all-spice, and maybe a touch of cinammon. Flavor was also spicy, but also offered a hefty dose of maltiness that was neither overly sweet nor cereal-y. Mouthfeel was a bit thick and appropriate. I thought this beer to be quite good. Pours dark copper with a thin tan head. Aroma of coriander and cinnamon. Initial taste of mild "Christmas cookie" spices. Soft and delicate on the tongue and NOT overpowering.

Bottle pours amber red color with off white head. Aromas are all over the place. Cinnamon is the most pronounced followed by ginger and citrus. Flavor is cinnamon spicy with ginger, and overall holiday spices. Finishes sweet. Nice brew. superspak (5883) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - JAN 30, 2014
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, 2013 bottling. Pours moderately hazy ruby red color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with solid retention, that reduces to a lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of raisin, plum, fig, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, orange peel, herbal, floral, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of malt, spice, and fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of raisin, plum, fig, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, orange peel, herbal, floral, and toasted earthiness. Lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, cinnamon, nutmeg, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and complexity of fruity yeast, malt, and spice flavors; with a good malt/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly slick and smooth mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice winter warmer style. Good balance and complexity of malt, spice, and fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering. Bottle from a recent trade. Poured into a snifter at home...hot as balls in South Florida...95 today. Good day for a Winter beer. Aroma is heavy breads, sweet malts, orange, cinnamon, candy dark sugars, and gingerbread. Taste is similar with the bread, gingerbread, orange, sweet candy, and dark caramel malts. Booze finish with spices. Medium to full body. Tasty. PorterPounder (8228) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - NOV 11, 2016
Youngstown, Oh - on tap at Rust Belt Brewing Tap Room. Medium copper pour, light off white head. Toffee, caramel, and Christmas spice in the aroma. Flavor has a similar spicy profile, Christmas spices are quite prominent and warming, throw in some pipe tobacco notes and you have an excellent winter warmer for a rainy cold Youngstown evening. arn8897 (413) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - NOV 26, 2016
Pours a deep amber with an off white head. Aromas of malt and some caramel and spice and some alcohol warmth in the finish. Medium mouth feel with no lacing in the glass. Nice warmth also.
