Ok, reading these reviews people aren’t giving Tecate a fair chance and not rating it for what it actually is. Tecate is the biggest sponsor of the Baja 1000, 500, 250 “AKA The Tecate Baja 1000”. (Longest point to point desert race in the world). It is like coke in Baja California, it can always be found. Me being a diehard desert racer you really get to see what Tecate is made of. You’ll be out in the middle of nowhere after riding 200-300 miles not seeing a sole, choking on dust, falling, almost hitting cows, close to flying off cliffs and you’ll see a little shack with the big red and black logo “Tecate” written all over it. At this shack you’ll see 2 guys drinking 40oz Tecates outside lying down in the dirt relaxing in the middle of the desert and one guy behind the counter. You give the man behind the counter 50 pesos and he throws over a six pack for you and your buddies. You crack that can open and start reminiscing of the close calls and awesome trails. All the ratings, taste, aroma, appearance go out the window and you sip 2-3 of those bad boys go ride another 200 miles of dusty trails and you start to really appreciate life. Now some people like sipping on beer for long periods of time, or playing beer pong so they get the cheap light beer like Budweiser or Coors light which I think tastes just like water. I will trade Coors light for Tecate any day and have a grand time. Now let’s be real it’s no elegant or hand crafted beer but for what it is, it’s a great beer. My rating is on what this beer is not what it’s not.

Pour was a light amber with a small fizzy white head. Nose of caramel and spruce. Taste was heavy of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and light spruce. Wonderful flavor, and very smooth. This has the best caramel flavor ever.

This beer is among the best beers you can drink with a nice lemon wedge and salt. It’s delicious wth tacos and most bbq. It’s not heavy yet it gives you a nice relaxed feeling after just 2 or 3. This beer alone, without a lemon wedge is simply incomplete...you need to have a lemon wedge in order for all the favors to truly be enjoyed.

My favorite beer in Mexico, and the best for rodeos. It is cheap, the can appearance is a plus.
