Amber coloured. Mildly smokey aroma. Medium- light bodied. Balanced smokey bacon flavour. Clean, but fairly soft malt profile. Medium bitterness.
UPDATED: JUN 14, 2005 (On tap 30 cl) Copper coloured I guess? Clear and filtered, very pretty appearance. Smoked beers are rather unusual, but this is one of the few. Bottom fermented. No smoke on the nose but it appears immediately the minute you dip your tongue in this fluid - albeit not as pronounced as for instance in "Aecht Sclenkerla Rauchbier". Slighlty toffee-ish sweetness. Not much hoppiness. I’m afraid smoked beers never will be a favourite of mine. 160405 Travlr (24880) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 20, 2011
Draft at Teerenpeli. Deep maroon color, solid white head, solid curtain of lacing. Aroma of campfire. Taste is roasted chestnuts and burnt coffee grounds, bitter finish. Nice. fiulijn (20516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 20, 2007
Draught at the brewpub, Vuorikatu/Helsinki
Amber color. The aroma is too light. The flavor shows more clearly the smoked malt, not invasive, with some dry malt flavor and the necessary bitterness. Dry as many beers from the brewery, but pleasant and flawless.
