Bottle from Bierzwerg!
Pours dark copper colored with high, fine off-white head. Smell has lots of sweet malts and caramel. Aroma is very caramelly, slight sweet with raisins, soft woody. Middle part is slight hoppy bitter, with some caramel, toffee and butter. Goes into a wooden malty finish with toffee and some sweet chocolate.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2018 On tap at the brewery in Tegernsee, Bavaria, Germany. Slightly hazy brown mahogany with a three-finger beige head in a half liter mug. Aroma and taste of caramel and toffee with hints of plums and dark fruits. Gentle sweetness. Medium mouthfeel. A perfect complement to the Schweinshax'n with brown gravy.

Bottle. Very aromatic herb nose - rosmarin, lavendar on sweet malt. Golden brown, off-white cream. Medium to light malt base, light nutty roast and molassis, fruity notes - wellpackaged. Could be a bit more chewy - a bit light on the finish, subtle hop notes retronasal.

It is a good dark beer. It tastes malt and coffee and the sweetness is well balance with the bitterness. I was drinking this beer in a Thai restaurant and with the red curry, it was perfect.

16th April 2018. Monthly Shrewsbury Beer Exchange in Chez Sophie. I brought this 500ml bottle; BB 9th May 2018, obtained from Beers of Europe. Clear dark amber body, cream coloured head. Caramel like aroma and lead in the taste. My sweet tooth taking to it straight away, a bit slicker/fuller body wise than a lot of Dunkel style biers I have had, liked it.
