3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thanks to Momar42 for this German curiosity! 500ml bottle into a nonic pint glass.
A: Pours a very pale straw color featuring excellent carbonation. The head is a two finger whIte color. It fades at a moderate clip, and leaves nice patches of lacing going down.
S: It’s a typical aroma for the style - lots of grassy hops, unobtrusive malts, and some diacetyl. I’d say the latter is a bit more prevalent than I’d like, but a fairly good aroma otherwise.
T: At first, the buttery diacetyl presence (just like in the aroma) comes fairly strongly. Luckily, it smooths out into nicely crisp, hoppy bite on the finish. Some slight fruitiness will try to build up, as well. Not ultra interesting, but about what I expect from the style.
M: Light and crisp to be sure - but sadly the finish and aftertaste isn’t as dry as I’d like here. For that reason, it lacks great drinkability. It’s got good carbonation, at least.
O: Not bad. I’d say this one is a notch or two below the best of the style, though. Worth a try.
Draught @ Burger House, Münich. Aroma has strong butter tones and quite nothing else. Flavour has buttery malt and mild grassy tones. Finishes with mild floury(!) and milky notes. A bit messy for a helles. olio (10290) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 17, 2017

Head is average to large, frothy, white, with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is sparkling clear straw. Flavor starts lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and slightly bitter. Palate is light, watery, with a lively carbonation. A light and almost Pilsener-like Helles. Tasty.

Bottle at Craft Beer Tuesday (on Thursday). Pours clear golden with a decent head. Aroma is butter, strong pale malts, lightly metallic. Body is medium, softly sweet and bitter, with a low lively carbonation. Hay flavours, still light butter, flowers. Palate is dry, but a bit too flat to be called refreshing. surething_ii (375) - Šenkvice, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - MAY 7, 2017
Okay helles, in overall I have to say against. As usual it won’t amaze you, but it’s slightly above average.
