BeerLimey (2155) - California, USA - JUL 9, 2004
Clear reddish brown, well carbonated, decent head formation. Rich malty aroma, slightly meaty. Strong dark fruits, malty flavor, alcohol warmth, sweet alcohol finish.

Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 4, 2005
Dark brown, clearish body. Nice lacing quickly resumes to cover. Burnt caramel owns the nose, but can’t completely hide pleasant herbs and toffee as well as a mellow roastiness. Not very complex, but well displayed, sweet and aptly malty. Perhaps some earthiness would be appreciated to pair the nutty caramel and give the impression of a reduced sweetness. Mild alcohol, highly carbonated, almost too much, medium bodied. Interesting

MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 21, 2007
A Mes rate: 50cl bottle from Quinns. Strange but somehow appealing nose. Notes of banana with some milk and lots of yeast. Same in the flavour but unfortunately by the time the glass has made it to my mouth the milk has gone off slightly. Lots of yeast all round. Can taste the alcohol quite clearly but it is tollerable. Bread and butter finish.

Grovlam (4253) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 30, 2007
Bottle. Small off-white fizzy head. Spar lacing. Clear amber color. Rye bread, caramel, burned, fruit and brown sugar. Medium bodied with a light alcoholic texture. Moderated malty sweet flavor with some bitter burned notes. Sweet malty finish.

Bottle. Amber colour with a big beige head. Caramel malt, rye bread aroma and taste, light roasted. Medium body with a sweet dry finish.

asheft (3108) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 13, 2009
[bottle] Apple, coffee, spicy melanoidins=aroma. Beautiful, red-brown colour, with some wisps on top. The flavour is too sweet for me, but still very nice: dark malty, very low bitterness, liquorice notes. Medium to full body, slightly warming, moderate carbonation.

wyzzywyz22 (2752) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2009
Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Poured a dark brown colour with a fast fading tan head. Caramel malt aroma with some fruit. Pretty sweet malt heavy flavour with rye and prune notes. Gently boozy and quite smooth. One of the better German brews I’ve tasted and not without some appealing characteristics.

joergen (29216) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 19, 2011
Bottle at yespr. Clear orange brown coloured with a small off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel, bread and dried fruits. Sweet flavour of caramel, bread and dried fruits with notes of hops. Hoppy finish.

brownyonder (267) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 18, 2012
Pours dark brown with a hint of red. Good white head. Caramel, malt and a slight smokiness in the aroma. Flavours of malt and caramel.

Mariusz (12080) - Baden-Baden, GERMANY - AUG 13, 2012
Brown with red accents. A touch of dark fruit and molasses accompany some pretty rich chocolate flavors. Sweet after taste with a trace of hops.
