This is a lovely golden ale with a good, hoppy, citrus taste.

Cask (gravity dispense) at GBBF, August 2005. Amber/gold colour. Lots of fresh herbal, grassy hops on the nose. More of the same on the palate. Plenty of citrus. Smooth and clean. Dry, with a touch of acidity, but mellow rather than assertively bitter. A very nice beer.

Minty, herbal, grapefruit-citrus hops in the caramel malty nose. Clear copper coloured body with low, off-white head that recedes to ring. Grapefruit hops play over caramel malts in the dry, well-attenuated, medium light body with lively effervescence. Cask at GBBF 2005.

Cask Conditioned, Gravity poured at Banbury Beer Festival 05. Clear golden beer with lasting white head. Fresh fruity beer, lemony, grapefruit with a buzzing fragrant hop. Nice balance but a yeasty finish. Enjoyable beer.

An unclear orange beer with an off-white head. The aroma is yeasty with notes of oranges. The flavor is yeasty, fruity, and dry.

Bottled. Amber colour, gently poured to minimise the haze from the conditioning. Plenty of sediment in the second half of the bottle though. Hoppy introduction, flat middle palate, left searching for flavours, decent bitterness which cuts off short.

rauchbier (3846) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JUL 19, 2003
Bottle conditioned. Faintly hazy amber gold colour, good fluffy rocky white head and moderate condition. Fruity citrus, almost grapefruit hop aromas, initialy quite bitter in the mouth but becoming more fruity with some tangerines and malt balancing the hops with time. Short dry chalky finish with some lingering hop traces.

Sampled cask conditioned at Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden.
Amber coloured and unusually lively for a cask ale. Grass and caramel up front, followed by firm malt sweet body. Some vague fruitiness leads to a long bittersweet finish.

This beer has caramel like malts and fruity notes. Shame about the soda-water mouthfeel and lack of bite. Gentle like a Morris Minor.

SilkTork (5659) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - JAN 19, 2003
A bottle conditioned Golden Summer Ale. Brewed in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Morris Minor, this muddy coloured beer from the small Devonshire brewery of Teignworthy has an interesting hop attack combining citric and apple flavours. The malt base is a little flat and muted suggesting poor conditioning rather than a poor beer. Some stewed hops flavour in the finish confirms poor conditioning.
