Minty, herbal, grapefruit-citrus hops in the caramel malty nose. Clear copper coloured body with low, off-white head that recedes to ring. Grapefruit hops play over caramel malts in the dry, well-attenuated, medium light body with lively effervescence. Cask at GBBF 2005. Oakes (17831) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 28, 2010
@ Old Green Tree, Bath. Golden-amber colour with a loose head. Fruity hop on the nose. The palate is fresh, fruity hop balanced with light pale malt notes. A bit creamy in the front and juicy at the back. A really good one. imdownthepub (14767) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 17, 2005
Cask Conditioned, Gravity poured at Banbury Beer Festival ’05. Clear golden beer with lasting white head. Fresh fruity beer, lemony, grapefruit with a buzzing fragrant hop. Nice balance but a yeasty finish. Enjoyable beer. Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 5, 2010
Cask. Copper-dusted gold with thick white head. Nice hop-filled aroma is herbal, wet, and earthy. Soft palate. Balanced, yum with toasted malt finish. Really solid.

Cask (gravity dispense) at GBBF, August 2005. Amber/gold colour. Lots of fresh herbal, grassy hops on the nose. More of the same on the palate. Plenty of citrus. Smooth and clean. Dry, with a touch of acidity, but mellow rather than assertively bitter. A very nice beer.

Pint, Half Way House, Langport, Somerset. Consumed on 2nd September 2010. Good lacing, creamy-white head, Floral notes in the hops, perfume, grapefruit body, good bitterness levels, ok balanced but nothing sensational, low carbonation, oily and creamy. johndoughty (5472) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 21, 2011
Bottle. Golden with a medium head. Some hopiness and a slight bitterness.Didn’t leave any aftertaste but there was some acidity.
Quite reasonable. Svesse (8615) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - AUG 26, 2006
(Cask at GBBF, London, 2 Aug) Colour is amber with small head. Nose is fruity with peaches, orange and some dusty, earthy hops. Taste is fruity with notes of dried fruit (apricots, apple), peaches and a refreshing puff of dusty hops in the finish. Balanced malt sweetness throughout. Well balanced and nice. On cask at Henry’s Bar, Paignton, Devon.
Appearance - golden amber with a decent head.
Nose - toffee and red fruits.
Taste - toffee and jam hybrid.
Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a dry tangy finish.
Overall - would consider this more of a bitter or English pale ale than a golden ale.
