Cask conditioned at The Alehouse, Reading, Berks. Amber to copper with white head. From the start this was tartish, fruity, quite flabby with a hint of spicing. Sour plum in the close. Not quite right I reckon. niquillis (2752) - Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 17, 2011
On cask imperial, Exeter. Pours copper with a lively head. Nothing more than a drinkable best bitter. Nothing to make it feel festive.

Clear medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light to moderate hoppy, orange - citrus, licorice - anis seed. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, spices, licorice - anis seed, nutty notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.
Cask (handpump) at the Market Porter on 4 December 2010. Bright clear copper colour. Lasting white head. Clean and fruity. A fair ration of tangy hops. A very solid strong bitter. Good drinking. Not dissimilar to the Rudgate Rudolphs Ruin that I had immediately before it. Not sure what makes this one a Christmas beer either.
