Draught at the brewery in Santa Barbara, California. Nice Clear deep copper beer with a nice beige head. Fruity coffee aroma, caramel, grapes, yeast, floral notes. Coffee flavor, grapes, raisins, tar, some yeast and caramel. Ok for being this mix. kaser (6469) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 30, 2016
Coffee does dominate the aroma and taste. Interesting in an abbey style. Good stuff. Fruity and roasty. Had this poured from draft at Telegraph Brewing in Santa Barbara. Lubiere (14341) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 8, 2016
A reddish amber ale with a thin lacing mocha head . In aroma, grassy caramel malt with light grassy hops, light coffee grind, interesting. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with loads of coffee grind, musty character, grassy hops, interesting twist on abbey meets coffee. On tap at North Country Brewfest 2016. beerbaaron (1997) - Arizona, USA - JUN 11, 2015
Draft. Unclear medium amber. Big frothy off white head. Belgian yeast prominent. Coffee underlies. Some chocolate. Even something like Nougat maybe. Interesting. Comes together surprisingly well. Fun brew. I’d have another.

>> On tap as "Handlebar Abbey" 7.1%. Clear amber pour, weak head. Nose is red apple, charred tortilla, gritty. Taste is apple juice, chemical, apple skin, sugar. No thanks.
On tap @ Provisions Market. Sort of a brown color with copper highlights on this beer, off-white foam. Sweet caramel and dark fruits on the nose. Some spicy coffee, light citrus, dried berry, and some cocoa. A touch of roast, too. A little bit on the green side on the tongue. Green pepper/bell pepper in particular. Sweet caramel, berry, and chocolate, too. Mild coffee bitterness and a slight spice. Okay, the green coffee thing kind of ruins it for me, though. Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy reddish pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, red fruit, coffee bean into some green bean, cocoa powder, slight green pepper. Taste was a mix of caramel, roast, coffee is there but hidden, some dark fruit into a bit of earth, finishing slightly spicy. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - NOV 16, 2014
draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo NY. Caramel coloredpour, medium body. Nutty brown abbey ale, caramel malts, big dose of coffee flavor. Coffee over rides the base beera touch. Nice beer if you like coffee
