This throws me off. Has some darker malt maybe Munich that malts up the final product. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - MAY 26, 2014
draft at Blue Monk, amber brown pour, medium bodied. Nutty, touch of coffee, malty, did not come off exactly hoppy nor Belgian. Didnt care for this Iphonephan (7474) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - APR 16, 2014

Draft at the Libertine Pub. Nose is floral, caramel, nutty, and dark fruits. Murky rust with a medium, heavy lacing, beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter with fruity notes. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - APR 2, 2014
Draft at ebp. Pours a crystal clear dark amber with golden brown edges. Dense creamy tan head and no real lace. Earthy, minty, palm-sugary nose that doesnt really work together. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Dark caramel and mint on the mid palate. Long earthy finish. Kinda all over the place.

Draft at Eulogy. Slightly hazy dark copper pour with a thick white head. Funky mix of hops and dark red fruit. Does not seem to fall within any particular beer style. Fairly broad palate. Brandied pears. Cherries Jubilee. Brown carob liquorice. Shiitake consomme. Prune danish. Sweet, sour and spicy. Complicated and unusual flavors but not sure at all that everything works in combination, but at least it’s not boring. bhensonb (15963) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 10, 2014
Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours amber brown with a beige head. Aroma is hops and sweat. Strange, but attractive. Med + body. Flavor is malty/earth/darkish fruit, a little yeast. Finishes towards dry; earthy; bitterish. Very nice. marcus (10865) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 6, 2014
On tap at Capitol Beer. Pours copper with a rich beige head and a fruity aroma. There is a barleywine kind of flavor that starts sweet then turns bitter. Not a typical Belgian, still pretty good. BillKismet (4165) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 30, 2014
Brown amber, decent cover. Hoppy nose, with herbal, European hop touches. Quite hoppy for a Belgian brown. Nice woody and nutty flavor, hoppyness is more smoothed out and the finish is a buzzy, tannic woodiness. Could use some more aging. 5000 (6900) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JAN 20, 2014
Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Deepest of dark ambers, nearly in the brown category, large foamy sandy head, fairly nice lacing.   Soft citrus zest nose, a little mandarin orange it seems.   Otherwise a bit non-descript, perhaps a bit bready.   Soft citrusy tartness up front, a touch musty, but very pale in terms of maltiness or body.   A light example.   Very light.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Snoozer of a finish.   Pretty boring...
