750ml bottle from Olive Tree Market. Pleasantly surprised with this one, Pours a deep cola brown with a good sized bubbly beige head. Nose was roasted malts, coffee grounds, and faint dark berry fruits. Flavor was also quite roasty and reminiscent of the zin barrel. Thankfully, not another drain pour from Telegraph. travita (5006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 5, 2009
Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The look is brown to black in color and has a beige colored head. The smell is malts, sweet, roasty, and some chocolate. The taste is roasty, chocolate, nuts, and malts. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - SEP 1, 2009
Pours brown with amber edges and initially blooming tan (infected looking) head. The aroma is sharp acidic infection with murmurs of the sweet malt, nutty, mildly roasty notes in the background. The taste is the same with echoes of prunes, chocolate fudge, roasted malts and nuttiness well behind the bottle flaw going on here. So this rate is mainly based on the non-infected qualities of this beer. sebletitje (10080) - Enghien, BELGIUM - AUG 30, 2009
Pours black with off white head.
Aroma of rotten apple, hints of chocolate.
Flavors, light malts, some chocolate, followed by apple notes. Light roast.
I could get some elements of what the beer was supposed to be, but clearly did not pick up any hints of barrel or port in this one.
Would not mind trying a newer batch.
That’s 2 or 2 on Telegraph beers that seem to have been infected. jkwalking05 (4740) - Arlington, Texas, USA - AUG 22, 2009

(750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) Pours a dark brown with clear edges. Nose has nice sour notes and oak from the barrel aging. Slight smoke smell. The interplay of the chocolate and white wine is interesting, but not a perfect marriage. Great champagne-like carbonation and lacing. Sour lingers on the palette on this one. UPDATED: JUL 18, 2009 Poured dark brown, roasted malts, little coffee, little dark chocolate, little vanilla, little sour. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUL 6, 2009
(750ml bottle) Pours a dark brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, vinous, coffee, and light chocolate. Flavor of roasted malt, white wine, light coffee, cocoa, and vanilla. Would probably enjoy more in a different type of barrel.
