djoeye (5511) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JAN 19, 2018
Aroma; citrus, hops, spruce, nuts, almond, modest malt. Look; pale beige-orangeish head on dark ruby mahogany clear body. Taste; hops, wood, spruce, citric peel, herbs, backbone of dark malts. Finish; balanced, tasty, lingering, roasted malts and citric sprucey hops. Feel; good body, natural co2, abv well wrapped in. Overall; good brew. Maybe malt could come slightly more forward next time. [50cl.btl 8.0% [email protected] 9€ , [email protected] xmas-out-project] 6574'15

0.5l bottle from #0013. Looks quite good this one. It has a nice big well lasting softly lacing brown beige head over a dark copper bronze body. It has a nutty quite roasted nose, lots of earthy nutty tones here bit also it’s nicely hopped. A strange sourness in the back but not disturbing really. Tastes quite different. Wouldn’t call it directly good, but sure different. Not much sweetness left in this one. Dry and roasted. Earthy fruits and dark types of malts. It has a nice average carbonation level and it feels light oily in the mouth. Ends with tones of both chocolate and good old "knekk". Something in the back that I cannot put a good description on, chalk perhaps? Not sure, but its good enough to finish the bottle. 11.12.2015

Foffern (2108) - Bodø, NORWAY - JAN 11, 2016
Bottle. The color is slightly hazy reddish brown with a big creamy beige head. The aroma is very careful with hints of leather, wood and toffee. More tasteful at least with sweet tones of caramel, bread, wood, coffee, grassy hops and some alcohol. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. Incredibly light aroma, decent taste, and pretty sweet ale.

Bottle. A murky orange-brown beer topped by a big, dense beige head leaving some lacing. The aroma is mostly on the hoppy side, oranges, pine cones and some resins, with roasted malts, coffee hints and some cocoa hints. It’s full-bodied, smooth and nicely carbonated, with flavors of oranges, pine cones, grass and roasted, cocoa-ish malts. Long finish. A quite decent brew, mellow and pleasant, but nothing extraordinary. 151231
