A classic gets a new edit.

We’ve taken one of our favourite regular beers, In The Dark We Live, and given it a bit of a remix. A darker take on our Black IPA, we’ve added in blackcurrants, blackberries, and black raspberries to take In The Dark’s classic berry notes and turn them up to 11.

On the nose, you get intense hops and plenty blackcurrant. But on the palate, the rich dark malts start to come through, with just a hint of acidity from the fruit and lots of resionous, juicy hop flavour. The fresh fruit flavours come through again in the finish, that play just right against an assertive bitterness.

Dark brown color with creamy tan head. Aroma has caramelized malt, resiny hops and generic dark fruits. Taste follows, the berries are not very present but it has a generic fruitiness with a light acidity, resiny hops and some orange rind bitterness on the finish. Medium plus body, medium carbonation, quite smooth. ABV is hidden well making the beer very easy to drink.

Bottled. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, citrus fruits, and chocolate, leading to a bitter finish.

Sample from 33 cl bottle. Near black with a thin tanned head. Fruity aroma with dark berries, citrus, spicy notes and a lightly toasted note. Taste is bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes dry and fruity with dark berries and malts. Coffee. Too heavy on the dark berries to be well balanced.

[email protected] place - Black pour with beige head. Fruity hoppy and roasted malty with notes of cocoa and caramel, with a berry medley in support, roasted and hoppy finish.

Bottle from Oddbins Rosemount. Looks very nice. Pours the darkest brown and a tan head. Nose has caramel, cherries and blueberries. A damp leafy hop with a herb finish. Flavour is real black treacle up front then a light aniseed and berry tart sweetness. It has a soft feel with a moderate to light fizz. Plenty bold flavours in this fruity black ale.

YantarCoast (1662) - Moscow, RUSSIA - JAN 1, 2018

16/20 pretty sensational black ipa - hop forward, nice initial taste then the huge berry taste takes over with subtle alcohol kick as well. smooth and delicious

danlo (3407) - Darlington, Durham, ENGLAND - DEC 20, 2017
330ml bottle from the Cheese & Wine Shop, Darlington. Pours black in colour with a foamy biege head leaving lacing and aroma of roasty malt & fruity hop. Taste is malty, roasted, molasses, with dark fruits, yeast, booze and some resiny hoppy notes. Smooth mouthfeel, full to medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

Fules (1465) - Gyöngyös, HUNGARY - NOV 20, 2017
Kicsi, tartós, barna hab, fekete szín. Feketegyümölcsös illat, némi fűszeres beütéssel. Csokis, feketegyümölcsös ízek, fűszeres aromákkal. Testes, közepesen szénsavas, erősen keserű. Kellemes, jól összerakott sör.
